Thanks. Yea, we have an architect drawing up plans for us so we’re already at that stage. We have a contractor on standby as well but do you only do reno’s locally in your area?
This is the complete opposite of last winter. Looking at h5, you’d think we’re snowing often but as Will said, we’ve been ‘unlucky’. I think that changes as we close out the month and into Feb, fwiw.
Thanks. I just told the wife this. There will never be a better time to take out a reno loan to do the upgrades we’ve been thinking about. My son also goes into kindergarten in Sept so we’re easentially getting a $1200/mo raise...by not having to pay for daycare. The stars could be aligning for us...just have to pull the trigger now.
Yea. That’s the issue for us. We can get max value for ours but then have to go into a bidding war and overpay for something else. So we’ll most likely do a reno loan or home equity to upgrade this one. We love the location so we’ll put in 100-125k of work/upgrades and call it.
What was once a favorable Jan with a sketchy Feb seems to have been pushed back. Hopefully we won’t keep kicking the can all the way into April and ruin it lol. But I’ve always thought the atmosphere changes slowly and slower than any computer simulation wants to spit out.
Those townhomes are the market, they’re available. We’re in a ‘love or list it’ stage with ours so we’re working with a realtor...she mentions these often but I’m just not a townhome person.

Yea. City folk has flocked there but if Ant is buying a 800k two family home in the city (not new?)...he can get a brand new 2200sq ft townhome on the west side of dxr for 500k and have an hour and change commute, depending on where his precinct is.
Sorry about your dad. I lost mine in 2015 at 65.
Do you have to be in the city though? Can you come to coastal CT and train/commute into work?
Even Danbury is a good spot for NYC workers...lots of folks there are originally from the city.
That’s what I’m leaning towards. A more balanced look between the atl and the pac would lead to better results...and during peak climo at that. I’m not worried.
It’s not a perfect science, true. But this signal has been there, that’s all I care about. Get it to like d5 then I’ll start taking any op run more seriously.
