  1. Uh oh DT calling for an arctic outbreak the second half of November
  2. Not one but two yellow jackets buzzing around me today. Was not expecting that after three straight nights in the mid 20's.
  3. Seeing a snowflake in October is a relatively recent 2009-2011 thing for me and happened once more 6 or 7 years ago, and that's in the cooler high county area. Lower County I only specific remember it in 1979 of course. Normally first flake is mid to late November. Cold is returning next weekend I can envision a first flake on schedule this year.
  4. 25F again It just wants to be cold now...this airmass was nowhere to be seen on the long range outlooks for November a couple weeks ago. Does seem like a large pattern change is in motion from the endless warmth since June.
  5. Dude it's the long range GFS. The only months it doesn't see polar vortex intrusions happening are June-August
  6. Color me skeptical of the Farmer's Almanac call for a -5F November and -4F December
  7. Word on the street is it's a bust, sigh of relief
  8. Some sources are claiming the best chance to see the aurora at this latitude we ever had tonight., meanwhile overcast skies highly likely
  9. These are tropical storm force winds. Lost a canopy top and got word a nearby resident is losing their roof. No high wind warning?
  10. It's been ripping almost continuously, even has a sometimes eerie whistle to it.
  11. A very Halloweenish feel outside to the weather and just in time.
  12. Bob painted happy little trees and often did snow scenes and once brought a pet squirrel on set he's a legend Roku has a Bob Ross channel
  13. Back to spring weather. Warmest Halloween week ever probably, can't believe I haven't even been close to a cat's paw frost amazing.
  14. The 4" rain area ECM/UKMET/NAM had over the region ended up 50 miles to the north. GFS did the best job imo
  15. Radar estimate locally < 1" . Good it wasn't winter the forecast would have been 18-24" by morning with an additional 8-12" rest of the day and I would be sitting at 8" thinking 3" more.
  16. Western sections would be in panic if this was a winter storm with current radar and the 0z GFS/CMC/ICON lol
  17. I'm working on it, last week I "napped" at midnight and woke up at 6:18 - can't do that in winter or the snow would be wrapped up already
  18. NAM is a big wet hit the NAM crashed
  19. Rumbles woke me up and I looked at radar, what followed was disappointment like the rest of my severe season
  20. ECM similar only less in the SW quadrant
