  1. One of those potential "long duration" storms. One thing that might be interesting to see is what kind of interactions that Jerry might have with this storm, which seems to be something suggested by earlier model runs.
  2. 8 pm update (system is spinning over P.R. with flooding rain). Looks as if the cone is possibly being influenced by a possible tug from Jerry -
  3. 8 pm update (little change although the storm motion has slowed to 5 mph) -
  4. 5 pm update (Lorenzo holding steady but expected to strengthen to a hurricane soon - perhaps by tomorrow) -
  5. The latest snapshot of the doppler. It looks like it has been consolidating and hitting P.R. at the moment!
  6. Levi Cowan from Tropical Tidbits will be on the Weather Geeks show tomorrow -
  7. Last set available of recon into Karen - there were 5 drops into the eye(s) -
  8. 2 pm update (Karen is sucking the energy from Jerry and has strengthened a bit)!
  9. 2 pm update and well sure enough, he sloughed all that stuff off he was dragging around and is now down to a slim 50 mph! But then a few folks have said, a "weaker" Jerry may end up dragging Karen up into the same vicinity so that will be something to watch for!
  10. Well at least in this brief moment, Jerry looks more "hurricane-ey" than he has in who knows how long... without all the crap swinging around on top! Even if it is just a TS. But the shear is just blasting away at the top of it.
  11. Was digging around trying to find a nice doppler animation of what I am seeing and I think this shows it - there is a little thing spinning up in the NE corner of the storm, near the end of the animation. You can see it live on doppler right now (I saw it running my GR2Level 3 but can't make an animation out of that) -
  12. NASA Hurricane group noting the shear taking a toll on Jerry (you can see the "naked swirl" sticking out to the SW ) -
  13. I think that happened to Jerry where the centers at various levels were not stacked initially. I believe AF300 is doing the low level recon and NOAA 9 is supposed to do the upper levels - https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/MIAREPRPD.shtml
  14. It seems some of the models (like the GFS ensembles) were showing Jerry rolling around to the SE and then S then to the SW (although they don't go as far as looping it from the latest time frames).
  15. Yes, that's where it appears to be ("pointing to" St. Croix which is to its NE and where the recons are flying from). I think they are trying to get a handle on the boundary of it, although I expect it may wobble around (a near-banned word... ) due to all the convection firing to its SW. But we'll see how it fares if it can get into a less hostile environment. I expect that if it were where Jerry is right now, it would probably be shredded apart completely.
  16. They were having issues with fixing a center yesterday. They just had another drop around/in the eye -
