Awe man I was so upset to miss these lights the clouds blocked my view. With how active this solar cycle has become and it’s still early on in it. I believe we will be getting quite a few of these maybe one even stronger. When we hit autumn or spring equinox with the way our magnetic fields works any strong solar activity is only amplified around those times. We had a G4 class storm if it was a few weeks prior or later would have possibly been a G3 class

Also weren’t those some of the years we had the great Chicago fire and the Great Michigan wildfires that raged thru the thumb? If I recall on reading it was very dry for a few years before the event and with our bad logging practices

With the wind I definitely don’t mind a rain as much. Share the wealth and we get the next one

I’ve been seeing those atmospheric rivers plow the west all winter it’s crazy how much snow they got at mammoth mountain. Record is 67 and they are in the mid 50s in feet about now right? I hope the spring out that way is gradual so all that don’t melt quickly and cause more flooding issues

I remember shoveling/snow blowing multiple times due to the wind blowing it back. Me and my brother also had to go out the morning after and our family car was fully covered in a drift and the truck more then half way. The persistent cold was impressive and also trying to do the boiling water trick was fun to do. Thing is it will happen again at some point in the future and we all will be here tracking it

As of 6am EST if you look at the radar it this system has precip from Hudson Bay all the way down to Brownsville TX

That is true. I know our rivers and creeks over here and still running high and it’s not heavy rain season yet. I also don’t want the rouge in canton to flood again that was a mess in end of itself lol

Knowing our luck we will get sleet first week of may. I’ll take winter thru March but after that bring in the warmth

It would not surprise me to see this on the upper Mississippi River basis and all the local rivers that feed into it. The snowpack is there and still a month or more of snow. If we end up having a wet stormy spring it definitely concerns me for major flooding. Ground is getting more saturated by the day. Back in 2019 I went to Winfield MO to volunteer and sandbag because I have family not far from there. Crazy how powerful that river is and seeing the water lines in Alton IL of the 93 flood and seeing the 2019 one only a couple feet away was chilling. I hope for a gradual warm up into spring
