Reason ? This isnt your typical rain to snow. It's a wave along the front. Remember 2016? We got a few inches after the change over.

Front came through faster on the gfs which resulted in colder temps but weaker precip. The heaviest precip was along the coast. Let's get Nams precip and gfs temps and we will be golden.

This can be a few inches for the city if the front can come through slightly faster with more precip. Nam was good. 1-3/2-4 for the city right now but it's not impossible for more. Too early yet to determine.

It depends on the speed and the position of the trough. It's funny how people think it's only going to be a coating. This can see a few inches . It all depends on timing.

This is an impressive jet . This is what happen with the last few anafronts. City turned to snow and received a few inches after being in the upper 30s. I can see the same but the front has to come through quick while the low is riding it on the backside. Nam was a step in the right direction.

The lake regions haven't really been getting good lake effect snow lately. The pattern hasn't really been cold enough.

Yes but the temps are crashing this time around. We need more precip.

But the eps has sucked. Gefs has led the way . The pattern should be better after the rainstorm.

Eps has been crap but next weekend isnt looking good for winter weather.

This is why you dont trust long range models.

The models tonight and tomorrow will be key to see how much of there will be. I can see a few inches out of this for the city or even barely anything. Temps dont mean anything at all. Remember ,temps will crash once the precip begins
