I'm not selling any of that....nothing has changed as far as the season goes....just bored.

Everyone is bored in the northeast

Yes we did get several inches of snow last month but anytime you see a big snowstorm miss to the south is heartbreaking.

We have a one week window for the rest of this month...holiday week.

I'm not comparing this to 2010 but look what happened that month

A lot of near misses and then bam, Dec 26 2010

A storm near Christmas keeps showing up but the details are all up in the air at this time.

  3. You know what's funny

Majority of the winter forecasts back in October had this month being a snoozer for the northeast. A lot of them changed their forecasts in November and thought this month was going to be great .

Maybe the original forecasts were right

Too far out at this point...things seem to be working against us of late unfortunately, but that's how it goes sometimes.  Better times coming hopefully by the holiday time period.

Your area has a better chance than mine

The shortwave diving in tomorrow is really vigorous. Too bad it's interfered too much by the departing one to our southeast or we would have a really nice little clipper event tomorrow. Shows how the unpredictable chaos in the flow has worked against us in this otherwise favorable longwave pattern.

Then we go into mild zonal flow for at least a week.

No one is watching that potential clipper for next week?

2002...light snow from 11:30pm to 2am changing to a mix and rain...

Forecast for NYC was not even an inch of snow after the changeover

The changeover on Christmas day started earlier and I received 5 inches of wind driven snow. I remember my family couldn't believe it.

I quickly put up TWC and Paul Kocin was talking about the storm

  7. Models have some light snow possible for Thursday night

I recognize it’s nothing more than a pipe dream, just wishing for warmer weather.   Too early to be this cold

    Too early?

    It's December

18z GEFS actually suggests a favorable pattern manifests itself for us at the end of next week (22nd), well before Christmas.

Everything is pointing to a colder and possibly stormier last week of the month. Maybe a white Christmas?

The LR/Seasonal outlook makes sense but given the northeast missed out today, there's no guarantee we'll see big snows during that period either (would be horrendously bad luck).

It's a rough time for weenies, November started off with a bang then grinded to a halt, parts of the SE got buried, and now the majority of us may miss out on snow this month.

These are going to be an agonizing few weeks.

    LOL

EURO is showing a faster phase between the two streams for the 12th, as the coastal low comes closer and the H5 trough phases in, this could get interesting in the next 72 hours.

There isn't any cold air around

This is going to be rain for everyone
