The short-term guidance is helping to ease my nerves ha. I haven’t been able to check any models today but am I correct in that all the foreign models mostly show a miss to the south?

Low of 26 here and .8” of snow off of .09” liquid. It just looks like winter outside. Man I hope we’re not slowly losing this storm. Don’t get me wrong, I still think us southerners are good for at least a few inches but I’m starting to get that eerie feeling. Next 24 hours crucial.

Looks like my call for 2" lollipops will fail to verify, unless I can get someone to report from Mt. Pisgah, Mt. Nebo, Welsh Mt., or the like. Even then, perhaps not ha. Still, a beautiful scene. Any snow is a win in my book, always and forever.

My wife says it's coming down real good at home right now, as a potent little band moves through. Things have mostly stopped up here in Harrisburg as the sky tries to brighten a bit, but still a pretty scene. Seems like Lancaster may make out the best for this little event, which is what much of the hi-res guidance was hinting at.

A beautiful steady snow has broken out here in Harrisburg. I'm off to take a walk in it.

27 when I left the house. I love where I sit for both today’s event and Monday’s, which is absolutely terrifying haha. I’ll be in Harrisburg today so won’t be able to give real time observations from home. Someone on the southern tier is gettin thumped I’m tellin ya, and by thumped I mean 2” lollipops ha. Could come down quick for a couple hours!

I do think someone on this board receives a nice little thump tomorrow afternoon. Could be highly localized but I have a good feeling about this being a sneaky overperformer for some. I would favor the Bubbler, Cash, Mitch. etc. region but wouldn't rule out us over this way doing well either. Temps in mid 30s could be a minor issue but with dews in the mid 20s things should wet-bulb down to a little below freezing in any heavier bands or showers. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. These little short-term surprise events are always fun.

GFS is a very solid evolution. Would please most everyone on this board. A nice 6" type event for most of the LSV.

I ended the year with 40.45" of total QPF, just a couple inches shy of my annual average. I saw an observer near Corry on Cocorahs reported 12" of snow already -- a nice start for them on what should be a prolonged lake effect event. The southern portion of the Tug looks to cash in big as well but what's new there ha.

Low of 32. I look forward to diving into things a bit more today but I know this: 4+ days out from a storm put me on the northern edge rather than the southern edge. I'll take my chances from there any day of the week.

I have a feeling OSU is gonna give that work to everyone on their way to a natty. Ugh.

I mean, I think you are wildly off here. There was absolutely a massive talent difference, as the aggregate recruiting rankings would indicate, just as there is in this game. It doesn’t always translate to the scoreboard but the talent disparity is clear as day for everyone to see, particularly on the line of scrimmage.

You weren’t wrong. It’s a mismatch on the line of scrimmage and yet. Texas deserves whatever comes its way at this point.

And if they go far it will be because of that defense, because Ewers and that offense leaves a lot to be desired at times. Texas struggling to put this thing away.

Another mismatch in talent. This could get ugly. The immediate change to the playoff has to be getting rid of the auto bye and top four seeds going to the conference champs. Let them in sure, but just give the top four spots to the top ranked teams.
