  2. Yeah I’ve been keeping a keen eye on that time frame. Hey @Bubbler86, some storms about to hit you or are they gonna slide by to the north?
  3. 65 at the house and 61 on the drive to the train through the cold spots. Looks like some nice hot weather this weekend for the wife and I, as we get our first little weekend getaway in years.
  4. Yep, you beat me all the way around. I only had .08 Sunday night. My weekend total was an underwhelming .29".
  5. .21" of rain from yesterday's line of storms. No visible damage anywhere around us but the Amtrak trains early this morning were canceled due to wind damage along the line. Hey @Itstrainingtime what the heck is up with the Orioles suspending their announcer over exactly nothing!? I heard the clip and have no idea what they are hearing. He quite literally just recited their record. That's it. Anyway, seems they are being lambasted pretty good over the decision.
  6. Quite pedestrian here. Was expecting much more. Looks like Solanco took the brunt of it. Will measure later but well under a quarter inch.
  7. .08” of rain here and sneaking in a round of golf before all the severe action later. Haven’t picked up a club in a year; I’m sure this will go well ha.
  8. Storm evaporated upon approach. Nothing doing here.
  9. MU compares against the entire period of record, whereas MDT’s departure is derived from comparing against only the most recent 30 year climate normal period; hence, MU’s departures almost always come in significantly higher than MDT’s. In other news, we were out on the boat today and while we didn’t really notice the smoke, the winds sure made for some choppy water. Still a great day, because any day on the water is a great day.
  10. A splendid 56/51 when I left the house this morning. Another ‘beaut on tap.
  11. It looks to me like his average diurnal range was 14.7, not 13.7. Keep in mind, he is in a fairly elevated location relative to the local terrain. Also, I believe they were very wet out that way this past month. All of that lends itself to lower highs and higher lows. Would a range that small be unusual? Sure. But impossible? No. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it out of hand. There are loads of little microclimates out there just yearning for discovery. Look no further than THV or CXY for some local "official" examples.
  12. Here too. Great night of windows open and tonight should be even better. MDT officially ends the month with a mean temp of 78.5, good for tie for 15th place all-time with 1901. Rain-wise, MDT totaled 4.97" for the month. I got 5.48" at my place and had 15 days with measurable precip.
  13. A beautiful 58 when I left the house this morning. Doesn’t get any better than this.
  14. A low of 61 here and .01” of rain. So begins an absolutely sublime stretch of summer weather. Enjoy, all!
  15. Wow how much better does this air feel!? Just leaving our party up in Morgantown, where we did catch the edge of some storms. As others have said, the wind was intense at times. We had some branches down and had to hold down the tents. A great day though!
  16. Yeah the Fv3 has been hot garbage. They better not be leaning on that model unless it receives some serious fixes. I will say the models as a whole did a good job the last couple days in depicting that line this morning drying up as it moved across the state. Also, this heat wave has been quite meh. Humidity-wise, sure yeah that’s been bad. But temps, ho-hum.
  17. Low of 71 here. I actually got a couple of batches of moderate rain after the initial line of storms last night. All in all, it added up to another solid haul of .65”. There may be some additional isolated winners later this afternoon before cooler air arrives during the overnight. I will be up in Morgantown most of the day and will be sure to update if there is any activity up ‘er. Toodles.
  18. Yes that’s the one I’m referring to! Very excited for it. Gonna take me right back to my youth. Also forgot to mention a temp drop to 72 here. Beautiful.
  19. Well, another day and another perfect summer storm. Looks like near a half inch again. The grass is happy, and you know what, so is this guy. A good storm and the kids are down early tonight. Time for pap to make a manhattan and put his feet up. Perhaps the new American Gladiators documentary? Who knows!
  20. Yeah it’s appearing more and more likely that August is going to start out on the cool side. Love it.
  21. Really impressive expansive batch of heavy rain and storms entering York Co. Hope it holds together as it crosses the river.
  22. Yes, been showing up on quite a bit of the modeling but more of a western PA thing.
  23. Doing some chicken-scratch over here and I think MDT will end the month with a mean temp of 78.5 or 78.6, good for 14th or 15th all-time alongside the years 1901 and 1994. Carry on.
  24. Just realizing that the Keystone Mesonet has a big gap around @Bubbler86's place, and really all of Franklin County. Hard to believe there isn't something in the Chambersburg area. Anyway, this site is an under-utilized resource. https://keystone-mesonet.org/
  25. .52" from last evening's storms, upon which I dropped to my low for the day of 74. Low this morning was 71. Yesterday may have been a bit underwhelming on the temp side (not humidity ha), with MDT topping out at 91 and a lack of extremes to be found, but today is the day I think we'll be off to the races. Clear skies abound. Don't think there will be any shortage of mid to upper 90s across the LSV today. Doubtful we reach the national high of 125 seen at Death Valley yesterday, but I'm not ruling out @canderson. Happy Friday, everyone!
