  1. Should add one more day to the dry streak at PIT to make this the 10th time we’ve gone 21 days without rain. All of the others occurred at least partially in meteorological autumn.
  2. It’s at least within the realm of possibility. Butler got down to 39.
  3. They’ve already backed today off to 20%. I expect we add another day to the streak today.
  4. Looks like we tied the 8pm record (30) and broke the 9pm record (29).
  5. NWS is calling for a 40% chance of rain tomorrow and similar for Friday.
  6. 6/11/72 is the date that features the seemingly unbreakable all time June record low of 34, isn’t it?
  7. Was thinking about this, as dewpoints are once again about as low as they can go, with the last hour coming in at 31. We actually had a dewpoint of 28 on the evening of June 19th last year, which seems pretty impressive. The current obs comes in second for lowest June dewpoint this century.
  8. Traces are not measurable. So they just saw a few drops of rain at some point. Hence the dry streak is still alive.
  9. Looks like PIT recorded only a trace, so the days without measurable precip streak has reached 14.
  10. I remember seeing a bit of cumulus develop in my area in the afternoon. If that happened at the airport, I could see where temps could have stalled a bit. Edit: you can see it on the 5-min obs during the hottest part of the day. 3:30-4:30 pm or so was observing BKN065, or 60-90% cloud cover at 6500 feet.
  11. As of 5pm the high was 89. But all of the 5 min obs since 5pm have been 90 so we just may make it.
  12. DUJ started reporting again, just in time to hit 91.
  13. Continuing to run 3-4 degrees ahead of yesterday. Maybe 90 is within reach?
  14. Interestingly, PIT topped out at just 87 on that 6/8/1968 day you reference. That’s also the year it took us the longest to get our first 80 of the year, on June 5th.
  15. Calm winds now, aren’t they saying the winds should pick up a little out of the northeast? That could actually help us a little in this scenario.
  16. Hard to say. Seems like dewpoints are forecast to be a little higher than when I looked yesterday (50s instead of 40s), so that probably hurts us a little. Still, the 9:00 hourly obs was 68 vs. 65 at the same time yesterday. Just feels like the kind of day where you’re going to get 89’d.
  17. The only way you’ll really ever get the Flagstaff climate is to move there. Aside from that, good luck.
  18. Just looked at the stats for PIT and we have had exactly two hourly observations with a dewpoint of 60+ in 2023: 9pm on April 5th (61) and 3pm on May 13th (60). That’s it.
  19. I know you’ll enjoy hearing that Burlington, VT has hit 95.
  20. 2020 did not. That was a cold airmass. Doesn’t look like any of the others featured a high above 75. Most of them had lows in the mid 30s to low 40s.
  21. Today could be the best diurnal range of this stretch at PIT. Low this morning was 51.
  22. Trying to decide if I had the choice between another 384 hours with no rain or some rain but probably higher dewpoints, which one I’d take. I think probably the dry one, but the implications might be a little worrisome.
  23. Underperforming on high temps this week at PIT. Something to watch on these hot days coming up.
