  1. One huge issue with school calendars is the insane number of closures. Agree or disagree, that did not happen years ago. In 2010, on Ground Hog day, it snowed 6” that night. Winchester City schools were on a regular schedule the next day. Fast forward 7 years and we were missing school because of a forecast of snow or even as little as a dusting. With the virtual capability now, there is no excuse for a traditional snow day. Set your calendar and follow it and you could start after Labor Day and finish by the first of June.
  2. I’ll counter that … it’s a fantasy image of how the basin could possibly (as in possible like 10 day snowstorms) become more active.
  3. Aren’t you in New York? Why do you care what winter is here?
  4. We might have a few dry places around, but I’d venture that most of the region is above normal. Here, right here, we are way above normal. And I’m sick of it lol
  5. Yes. Think about all of the adjectives associated with people who are the opposite of that and ask yourself if that’s really the person you want to be.
  6. I did not take this photo (just pulled from the internet) but I have personally seen this on an even larger scale here on about 4 separate occasions. It’s incredible to watch.
  7. Not sure about down your way, but out here we have massive swarms of starlings. Usually start about the first of September. There will literally be millions of them right before sundown. I guess they are trying to find a safe place for the night. It’s mesmerizing to watch them. I don’t know if those would show up on a radar because they aren’t very high when they do that.
  8. Always. I prefer to think that way. Nobody can accurately predict snow. They may get close on the overall pattern, but not snow. Too many variables
  9. Noah has put out advertisements for his ark.
  10. It’s over. It’s always over this time of year.
  11. How are all you ducks doing this fine Monday?
  12. This is perfect. I’ll take 30 straight just like it please
  13. 2.2” here. Closing in on 6” for the month. No mas
  14. I’ve always been a believer that in hot weather you don’t want a wet lawn. Yeah it’ll stay green but I think that’s when problems start. Dry and brown doesn’t look great but it also doesn’t hurt your grass.
