  1. Beggars can’t be choosers I guess, but I never want to experience a 1989 flip again. Thanksgiving to Christmas was great and then we got jilted at the altar.
  2. And @CAPE check around your dryer vent. Many times they cut a square hole for a round duct and don’t seal it. That’s where mine were getting in. Once sealed it almost eliminated them in the house.
  3. From speaking with relatives who live south, over the years they have seen a major increase while ours have dwindled to almost nothing. I think we are seeing a migration.
  4. Those things are so resilient. Couple of warm days and they seem to be back
  5. Lol it was such a great start...storm under a Banana high. Amazing how it fell apart as it approached dc lol What could have been lol
  6. Forecast to make a run at the teens. That’s chilly
  7. I think it’ll be in the 20’s here by 9 pm. That might be a bit ambitious but we’ll see.
  8. If this wind dies, it’s going low tonight
  9. Ok, I want 80”. 9 - 5” snows spread evenly - 45” 2 - 7.5” snows Dec and Feb 1 - 20” snow Jan Is there enough magic in the moonlight for you to make that happen Ray Kinsella?
  10. No Here, all snow days 1-5 are made up. After that it’s every other day. Giving them a snow day only takes away a summer day.
  11. Was just watching a webcam at Sbowshoe and it’s a legit snowstorm there
  12. I don’t think that those of us who think the reaction to this virus has been, for lack of a better word, dubious, are necessarily crazy. We just have a different opinion. Not subscribing to “group think” is not wrong, but is necessary to maintain a free society. I thought the poster made a couple of good points. We are entering the cold season, the season in which viruses tend to run wild. This surge shouldn’t have been unexpected. The other point is that we aren’t in control. We think we are, but we aren’t. We live in a natural world and that world brings hazards. Live with them, die with them. It’s the way it is. If you read the statistics published by the CDC, all of us in all age groups are far more at risk of death from other things. For school age children they are literally about 99% more at risk from something, anything else than they are from this. So wonder why out of all the risks out there, this is the one being focused on? I wonder. Whatever, I’m done with it. Just wanted to throw it out there.
  13. I’m no genius here, and I have not looked to know but I’d say you’ve got some southwesterly wind in front of a cold front.
  14. Oh I’m a hundred percent with you. I want normal school in masks. Do what we can and move on.
  15. Mine won’t. They will either do what they are supposed to do or they can say hello to summer school or a second ride in the merry-go-round next year.
  16. It’s not so much being lazy as indifferent. Kids are conditioned in elementary and middle schools that they will advance regardless of performance. When they get to high school that changes to a degree, but they are still of the mindset that they will move on. This isn’t about learning or not learning because of the different system we find ourselves in. The students of mine who do their assignments and turn them in are doing fine overall even if the struggle to learn the concepts is a bit more than normal. Teachers are very good at factoring in the difficulties when making an assessment of a students performance. For the student who turns in nothing, no understanding of the situation can take place. I have several students who have literally turned nothing in since the beginning of school. And many of them are in school, not strictly virtual.
  17. The students of mine who are failing are failing because they won’t do shit and turn nothing in. They are treating this as some sort of vacation. At least for me, it’s not the virtual aspect of this but rather the attitude of some students and the hands off don’t have a care in the world attitude of their parents. Just needed to get that in there LOL.
