I feel that with the development of skyscrapers around Central Park over the last decade, the park is no longer capable of going down to 0. -

I equate Central Park's low of 3 this morning to last June's high of 99. These two temperatures are about the absolute maximums temperatures that Central Park can reach in today's climate! -

So far I would give this winter an A for cold and a B for snow. If it goes to 0 or below in Central Park this grade goes up to A+! I would consider 1993-94 the only A or A+ cold winter in my lifetime! -

This winter, so far, has been a lot colder than 20-21. In fact, there's even a possibility that DJF could end up being the coldest on since 93-94. Maybe even, 76-77! -

Any chance that this ends up being one of the three coldest winters in our area, since 1976-77? -

Developing En Nino summers tend to be cooler as does summers following extremely cold winters such as this one. Think 1996, 2004, 2009 and 2014 Three of the coolest summers in our area in the last 30 years. Plus, the first half of the summer of 2015 was, in our area, one of the coolest on record. -

How come no one on this page ever talks about the 11 year cycle of severe winters like they do about summer 11 year cycles? -

If there ever was a year that he would see his shadow, it would be this year! -
There's a chance that we will, since we are transitioning from an La Nina to El Nino just like 2015.
-
Just keep building those 1,500 foot skyscrapers next to Central Park and ask why the park has a hard time going below 9-10 degrees. And don't forget what roll does the massive development of downtown Brooklyn, along with southeastern Queens over the last 10-years,have to do with the city not being able to get as cold, as it used to.

2015 like February, incoming? -
I am not impressed! The city might now go below 10 during the entire stretch.

I told all of you that I will not go below 10 in NYC during this stretch! Let's face it the dramatic development of NYC's landscape over the last two decades had impacted how cold it can get!
