First Call for Thursday.

Rain here, shocker! See if it trends cooler by Thursday to get me some sleet.
Currently 23F here.

I was surprised to see about half of the 50 members have warning snows to the pike now on that 18z run for 2/23. Been a steady cooling trend all day. I think we’ll need it to continue though because you know the inevitable north tick is coming with this at some point in the next couple of days.
How does it look for us in the tropics south of the pike? Lol

NNE had a nice series of storms during that stretch. Northern part of SNE cashed in a bit too. Down in the pike region we only got the 1/23 happy ending for anything shovelable (had 5.3” here)…but once you got into CT/RI there wasn’t much. Maybe a couple inches for some areas in that one and not much else.
Yeah, only kidding and complaining about the rain we got.

That's quite possible 30" in 4 weeks, I don't think we will match that last streak in Jan though.
What streak, 6” of rain lol?!

"Easiest" winter ever...every winter forecast that called for some combination of normal/below normal temps and normal to above normal snowfall is in line to be amongst the worse seasonal forecast ever.
The baffling part for someone who works around tech everyday is how is the modeling so off or are we putting too much stock outside of 5 days? The cold snap two weeks ago was probably the best modeled event of the season.
Does anyone track model consistency for each event to see which is closest?

Been doing that all winter LR; based on models I’d be basking in Epicosty but we are not and I am fine with that. Would be nice to see a good storm or two before the seasons out but won’t be surprised if it doesn’t materialize.

It’s extremely dry. There’s been no mud at all other than a day or two after that last rainer
Plenty of mud here, part frost and part of 6” of rain from January

18” on Memorial Day right to the coast. I actually do wonder what an equivalent springtime analog of Oct ‘11 would look like.
May 77?
