  1. It’s a pretty big company, recent merged with another company so now there’s about 20-25 locations on the east coast. Each location has their niches but my location had a big contract with MTA and WMATA Buses. It wasn’t the whole business but I’d say maybe as much as 40-50% of it. Obviously with much less public transit going on, buses aren’t breaking down as often. It was a nice union job and I was relatively new (less than a year). They decided to lay off some new hires at my branch
  2. Well have been temporarily laid off from Baltimore County Rec and Parks..though they were nice enough to give 64 hours of “leave” time to any employee who’s worked the last 2 weeks so I can at least use that. Thought I had 2 pretty “essential” stable jobs with full time in the diesel truck /bus repair industry and the 2nd part time job at the county. Crazy times.
  3. Tread carefully or you’ll be called ignorant and maybe even an xenophobe!
  4. https://www.foxnews.com/science/covid-19-transmitted-via-aerosolized-feces-study-warns suggesting to flush with toilet lid down. However, my girlfriend has me in the habit of flushing in soon as it plops cuz I’m so “rank” so we good.
  5. Mostly families here today but yesterday not bad lol, drove the ATV for a closer look to make sure it wasn’t 10 ppl
  6. Park getting pretty busy on this nice Sunday. Mostly people just playing with their kids and runners but monitoring. My new job tittle is “social ambassador”. So that if people try to gather I can inform them of the social distancing guidelines. I’d prefer skull cracker myself.
  7. The yoga mom group showed up at the park...if it gets to 10 people im crackin’ skulls
  8. Drink any heavy beers yesterday?
  9. That’s why liquor stores are essential!
  10. Still a lot but looks like we’ll have less deaths in the US than yesterday. About the same number of cases though.
  11. A couple months ago before any of this was even really a thought, my gf was stock piling TP and PTs from Walgreens online because they kept doing crazy cheap deals. I was going to Walgreens to pick up an online order like every week. I was like babe wtf why are you buying all this damn TP and PT, she said I’m practicing my coupon/discount buying. Doesn’t seem like such a bad idea now
  12. Group of dudes playing football at the park today but less than 10 so not much to be done about it lol
  13. America has a problem with keeping exotic animals in captivity for profit. Hence SeaWorld. But I’ve never heard of a wide reaching range of a problem of selling exotic animals for meat at markets. Does it maybe happen it the boondocks? Ok, I’ll Concede. But not in cities and provinces where literally millions of people live and congregate
  14. We’re talking about a culture that slaughters dogs and cats for meat...and exotic animals and then cages and sells them, much of the time killing them live in person. What are we really talking about here? Does the entire population participate in this? Of course not. But it is a large part of the culture over there. Again, I stated a reliable source supporting that particular way of life likely contributes to these disease outbreaks. If you didn’t like my particular wording, apologies but we’re talking semantics
  15. Wet markets are apart of their way of life in many provinces over there. I stated there’s a reason many diseases originate there and sourced a reliable article supporting it. There’s nothing ignorant about that
  16. I’m sorry you feel that way but it’s not ignorant at all...have you seen the videos of these markets? I won’t post one here because it’s quite vile. But go ahead and check it out. https://www.realclearscience.com/blog/2020/02/18/why_do_new_disease_outbreaks_always_seem_to_start_in_china.html
  17. Well that was weak sauce. Barely even getting any rain here
  18. HRRR does have it clearing out this afternoon though
  19. I tend to think most severe weather outbreaks are overplayed in this area anyways but yeah, radar doesnt look like much right now
  20. Death toll up to 19 in Tennessee...mostly in Putnam county, well east of Nashville...Will be interesting to find out exactly how many tornadoes there were or if this was mostly just from one single long track tornado
  21. I think Richmond is right on the line of steady light snow, so my opinion I wouldnt expect much there...But pending on model runs tonight If I lived in Richmond Id be willing to chase to the Raleigh-Wilson-Greenville corridor. If it goes down, that should be the best spot to see the most snow
  22. They’re not gonna increase a threat above slight 5 days out unless the blizzards of 2010 are coming...
  23. Wow that’s remarkable agreement for 120 hrs out. I think the good news is, that this is only 72-84 out from developing in the southern plains
  24. Not sure why when this is trending in a good direction, and could have 3-6" upside when all is said and done, wit ha nice saturday morning scene nontheless
