I mean sure, it is a piece of guidance ( I didn't say useful ) Joking aside, there have been times that it sniffs out a trend. Unfortunately it's been all over the place with this one -
Those look good. However my gut feeling is the 7 to 91 area could do better if this thing cranks in time even if the track doesn't continue to shift west

I think that's a very reasonable estimate. It'll be interesting to see if we get any more tics west throughout the day. Meanwhile we can watch the cnn (and others) blizzard coverage...GARBAGE

LOL for me that was '78 or '13. I'd love to see an 1888 someday but reality is, that's probably a once in 500 year storm

It was, as well as others. But keep in mind it's a different GFS than 2013. Can't really use that as a guide

I said this yesterday (or was it two or three days ago? ) Those clown maps are just a guide and rarely get the distribution of where banding is etc. correct. People need to focus on the track, strength and upper air more than those stupid clown maps. I agree this is going to be very impactful region wide. This type of storm always has a larger feel anyway even if you "only" get 6 inches

Its the mechanics and evolution of this type of storm that can possibly cause a several hour stall/slow down. No, its not a given however we aren't in a particularly fast flow right now

I'd take that again in a second. Over 30 inches in a lot of the valley was awesome...plowing 34 inches on my route was insane!
