  1. If you don't like that run of the GFS just wait for 4 hours, if this year proves anything it will be a totally different outcome at that point. Ensembles??
  2. Looking at Op runs at this distance for specific details... Tisk Tisk... are you crazy?
  3. Top of Coburn is AMAZING. There's been a few years when there was so much snow there you couldn't get anywhere near the top
  4. Normally would... but the tenor and attitude of the posts is far different than many of the other annoyances that post here. It's done in actual good fun and with the understanding of what it may or may not turn out to be. It's refreshing and doesn't come across as annoying
  5. Atmospheric seeding to reflect sunlight is the latest buzz I keep hearing. Watch them actually try it and 10 years later everyone's complaining it's too cold...
  6. We always brought our own sleds. We're all to picky with our equipment... heaven forbid they might try to rent us something besides SkiDoo
  7. Love that area. We used to stay at Inn by the River, but got sick of the LONG drive. Also, I prefer the VT trail system better. Maine gets boring, all the trails look the same
  8. I guess I just can't even imagine needing a guide on such a simple trail system in an area like ME, NH or VT. Maps are great and it's impossible to get lost really. We'll never ride NH ever again because of bad experiences in the past. Really irritating to be stopped and checked every other town by law enforcement. Maybe it's changed, but not worth it for us to find out
  9. In New Hampshire or VT?? Only place we ever had a sort of guide was our week trips to Canada
  10. This past January was just your average everyday minor snowfall out this way. You guys really cashed in, I think I had about 5 inches here iirc. And that's true I think the largest storm I had here in 96 was about 13 or 14 in. We just had many many free to 10 inch deals that just kept coming and coming. Honestly I prefer that to a winter with just a couple of blockbusters
  11. You don't say! They've been making a science out of that for decades
  12. True. It's very rare to get a 1995/96 style winter around here, or really anything close. That was my favorite winter so far in SNE since I've been following in the late 70s. Others have been close, but 95/96 we had snow OTG much of the time from November through late march. Never usually happens contrary to what many chirp on this forum
  13. GFS says maybe head out to Truro for a storm chase on the 7th? Just near the tip? Wait for it, cue the "big storms come northwest" crowd
  14. 2.5 on Sunday, brings my total to 25.5
  15. Flakes coating surfaces here this A.M. roads are slick. 28 degrees
  16. He does prefer the warmer weather, but has slowly morphed into following this time of year. Chasing tornadoes is how he ended up in the middle of the damn Springfield tornado, stuck on RT91 of all places right when it came over the Memorial bridge
  17. I'm lucky my Hubby is as into the weather as I am... We'd both weenie out to that!
  18. Where are you located? Plenty of frost in this area! I have an open electrical trench on a job site because everything is frozen solid. Maybe I should let some of you know where it is... save you money on toasters
  19. Same here. It hasn't been a lot, but there's been enough white ground to satisfy in this area
  20. Hate to tell you this, but that will happen January 10th if you have all sun... even if it's 10 degrees. Just doesn't happen quite as fast
  21. Snowflakes need their snowflake fix. They've gone from weenie to downright delusional
  22. The Bug is already prepped for its first drive of the spring, and the '77 bus resto is well underway. It's healthy to have other hobbies to take your mind off crap patterns
