  1. .SHORT TERM /6 AM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT/... Trough digging over the Eastern USA becomes a closed low Friday. This further turns the upper flow out of the south, drawing unseasonably humid air north. Precip Water values of 1.5 to 1.75 inches are forecast. This would be ho-hum for July, but not so for mid-April. Average values for mid-April are 0.6 inches, and high-end observed over the past 70 years have been around 1.4 inches. How's that trolling? That is remarkable.
  2. Yeah we're headed into the "self-destructive sunshine" phase of early summer. Good obs
  3. I wouldn't image that one full month straight of sunny 78/50 in Southern CA inspired many people to study wx
  4. Anyway, interesting couple of days upcoming...obviously will be some sizable rainfall totals and will be important to see where amounts are maximized.
  5. Yeah, of course there should be serious discussion. But at the same time, when you remove the lighthearted and easy going aspect, you have a very sterile environment. Everyone is different and maybe some want a very banal, obvious, sterile thing. Nothing wrong with that but you've effectively removed any personality differences.
  6. I was fully expecting that Next winter I'll be sure to remind you savage heathens, chest thumping and high-fiving your vodka cold -40s , that people are on the streets dying. Wah wahhh
  7. It is perfectly okay to wish for coastal flooding with ruined homes and beaches, car/truck pileup on interstates with injuries and fatalities, people frozen to death on the streets because they're homeless. Literally wishing model run after run for that perfect 960mb stalled at 40/70 But make one post about a flood or a strong banger and you're the devil
  8. See ya Saturday when you float by
  9. With a name like dryslot..yikes. Has N of Pike hit on you yet?
  10. Heavy Most noticeable, though, will be the extremely warm low temperatures, especially Friday night. An influx of 50-60F dewpoints will keep lows from dropping out of the low 60s or upper 50s Friday night.
  11. 35.3 in the cold valley..chilly finish to winter
  12. It's early summer now. 60 today and that is a cool down. Most of us have moved on from winter and embrace the "other" season.
  13. 46.3 bone-chilling degrees, the last dying breathe of what we knew was winter. It's early summer so these (relative) Late August, early September chilly nights will only be moderating from here.
  14. Bring 'em up Gyx && .HYDROLOGY... River levels remain high, though the only river still in flood is the Connecticut River at Dalton. The high flow levels in the rivers will set the stage for another possible flooding scenario this weekend. Warm, moist air will move north into the region with several rounds of rain possible. Through the weekend it is expected that much of the remaining snow cover in northern New Hampshire and western Maine will melt and run off into the rivers. Although the location and amounts of the heavier rainfall is still quite uncertain, there is the potential for significant flooding to occur mainly in the headwaters. This would most likely occur on Saturday into Sunday, with any flooding possibly lasting into early next week. &&
  15. Enjoy ... As of 314 PM EDT Wednesday...Our confidence is increasing for a moderate to locally heavy rainfall event Friday into Saturday with sharp rises anticipated on many local rivers and streams. The probability is increasing for several rivers to reach minor flood stage with the potential for a few to reach moderate flood stage. In addition, embedded higher rainfall rates could produce an isolated flash flood threat during this time period, especially across complex terrain of the Adirondacks into mountains of VT. If current trends continue a flood watch is likely to be issued either tonight or Thursday.
  16. Heavy dews and raging rivers/streams. This is what we've been waiting so patiently for and it's finally here.
  17. 57.0, warm sun. Wind aside, not a bad day.
  18. It is nearly May, the gateway to summer; and certainly close enough for long -range musings. Let's discuss the upcoming pattern and wx impacts.
  19. Most of us just want to keep it light and discuss the dews of the day, rain, mild temps....then some go off the rails and end up giving a dissertation of the fall of man, and so on
  20. Some folks ranting about burning cathedrals and the evils of Catholocism
  21. An unreadable last several pages
