  1. Was out splitting some wood after dinner. Nice cool breeze lots of leaves blowing around. What a beautiful fall evening!
  2. Thanks for this. I will be interested to see how well this does with the LE Streamers that set up over this area a few times per winter.
  3. BWI: 37.5 DCA: 27.5 IAD: 36.5 RIC: 18.5 SBY: 15.5 Bonus: KOKV: 48.5
  4. Agreed. But that map has those of us west of town 10-20 inches above normal. I would take that in a heartbeat.
  5. Tucker Barnes and his team are with the snowy and late winter call as well. Nice write up from them by the way: http://www.fox5dc.com/weather/2018-2019-winter-outlook-for-dc-colder-snowier-winter-for-region#/
  6. It was the most incredible single storm I have ever seen. We had 40" here. Too bad the rest of the winter was so crappy.
  7. Classic Miller A. Maybe a good sign of things to come if you are into the whole atmospheric memory thing?
  8. Skins rank 3rd in rush defense and 4th in pass defense on the season. So it has all been good. On a side note I was really sad to see my pepper and tomato plants all dead and wilted this morning. I really enjoyed the growing season this year. But they couldnt handle high 20's and are toast.
  9. I will take my 18 and like it.....In all honesty it is nice to be back to talking about the winter for real. It has been COLD out here the past couple of mornings.
  10. Yes. Gorgeous out here right now. 63 and the air is getting drier by the minute.
  11. That definitely counts. I was hoping to see snow in May. But apparently may is the driest month of the year there. We are really looking forward to it though.
  12. Anybody here ever been to Alaska? I am going next May for 2 weeks for my 25th anniversary. We were gonna do Bora Bora but decided if we wanted to see glaciers we better do it soon.
  13. Well. I for one will admit that I am wishing for EXACTLY this! No offense.
  14. Camille? Camille was probably more intense. But we will have to see what happens with the post storm research for Michael.
  15. I am not even gonna talk science. There is no chance we fail 4 years in a row. No chance I tell ya.
  16. Tore out some old bushes, planted new shrubs and mulched all of my borders yesterday. Yard looks great. Has anyone here refinished a faux wood front door before? Mine is 13 years old and sun faded badly. It is a steel front door with faux wood stain on it. I have no clue how to go about refinishing it.
  17. I almost picked the Derecho. But the wind storm this year was pretty damn impressive out here. It was the most consistent heavy wind that I have ever seen out this way. And the sheer number of power outages throughout the region give it my vote.
  18. Ok. I understand what an ERC is. But that still doesnt make my comment wrong. The wind speed was decreasing at landfall.
  19. Fair enough. I dont know much about Tropical for sure. Would you like to explain to me what is wrong with the product when it is showing decreasing winds just before landfall?
  20. Just looking at this loop it appears she was definitely weakening as she made landfall.
  21. I am not really concerned about surge for San Juan itself. It sits high enough that it will most likely be fine in that regard. But La Perla will definitely be an area I am sure they are evacuating for wind concerns. It is a poorer area of San Juan with not the best built homes.
  22. This entire hurricane season has been staggering in all honesty. Puerto Rico is one of our favorite places to vacation in the world. That it will now be hit by a major, in the same season, along with Southern Texas and Southern Florida is just unbelievable. And I agree with you that their economy can in no way handle what is about to happen to it.
