  1. WB 12Z EURO is very wet next week….
  2. Beautiful day everyone….since it is boring let’s see which model has a better handle on the next 10 days EURO/ Canadian dry or the wet GFS.
  3. WB 12Z runs precipitation totals for mid to late week event. GFS, EURO, and GDPS.
  4. WB 12Z EURO rains this week. Heaviest looks like Th. afternoon/ evening.
  5. WB 18Z GFS. First digital snow of the season just to our north…will have to dust off the prob maps.

  8. Lots of lightning, and wind has picked up. Looks like the first line will miss me and go North of MD 340. Was wrong, raining hard now in Brunswick.

  10. Flood Watch issued for northern suburbs. 611 PM EDT Wed Sep 8 2021 ...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT THURSDAY... The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Maryland, north central Maryland, northeast Maryland and northern Maryland, including the following areas: in central Maryland, Central and Southeast Howard, Central and Southeast Montgomery, Northwest Howard and Northwest Montgomery. In north central Maryland, Carroll and Frederick MD. In northeast Maryland, Cecil. In northern Maryland, Northern Baltimore, Northwest Harford, Southeast Harford and Southern Baltimore. * Until 2 AM EDT Thursday. * Showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected tonight. Average rainfall amounts of one-half to one inch is expected. However, thunderstorms will contain very heavy rainfall with rainfall rates around 1 to 3 inches per hour. Localized rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible. * Heavy amounts of rain in a short period of time may cause creeks and streams to rapidly rise out of their banks as well as the potential for flash-flooding in urban areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
  11. WB 12Z 3K NAM brings some decent thunderstorm rains later today and overnight.
  12. WB EURO December seasonal. If we get a White Christmas, I would call it a winter!
  13. Over 4 inches in Brunswick. First inch or two really soaked into the ground before the really heavy rain mid to late afternoon. Not much wind or lightning. Great start to climatological fall for the yard…it has been very dry over the mid and late summer season in SW Frederick county MD
  14. About .75 in my rain gauge since last night. Most rain in over a month. Perfect!!!
  15. WB 18Z 3K NAM; widespread 1-2 inches for everyone. I will take it. 7 inch liquid equivalent band can come in January with some Arctic air.
  16. WB 12Z EURO…tack us across far NW DC suburbs. Looks like worst of whatever falls will arrive Wed am and be out of here before midnight Wed.
