When it comes down to it, no one can promise what weather is going to do. The best models can't predict what's going to happen two weeks out, so how the hell can one person predict what will happen? We've all seen those surprise storms that just come out of almost nowhere, we've also seen the big storm that's coming that then either disappears or get shunted out just a day or two before. The element of surprise is always a factor in weather. That's why no one can say what's going to happen until we get to the end of March and look back on what actually happened.

Why...were they not good?

It seems every time one model shows something good happening two weeks out and the other shows it not so good. The good model caves to the bad outcome. We have yet to see a bad outcome cave for a good outcome.... Emphasize " yet "

Any maps to show the possibilities. That's all we have at this moment lol. Trying to keep the hope alive

Maybe I'm stretching here, but you're not going to be 45 to 50 after this Thursday. Friday, Saturday supposed to be a bit chilly, but for next week where you are, you're probably going to be in the load of mid 40s at the most for all of next week. Not 45 to 50. But it still doesn't get us any snow lol so it doesn't matter much I guess

Not here to fight. I come here like everyone else ... Looking for something that we all come on here for..... To track Winter. I know it's been a tough start... And might be a bad season... But it also might turn around. I'm not asking for anyone to bow down. Just asking to stop the pessimism.

I get you trying to be real, but why are you so pessimistic? Seems like you thrive off of this winter being a non-winter ( if there's some hope but things could change you shoot it down ) remember that my. There Is something to be said for being hopeful. Surprised you're even on the site if all you want to do is just stay negative about what's going to happen for the rest of the season. The other guys are on your same wavelength should start your own thread.

You know TT, he likes to make everything look super bad. Yes, there's no natural snow on the ground, but the trails are all covered and they have been making snow.

Well... Not quite the pattern change yet.... But transitioning later next week into the new year

Maybe we should stop focusing on other seasons and what we did in 2015 or any other season and wait to see what happens in this season. No two seasons are alike. I don't care how much they seem like they're matching up, there's twists and turns that happen in the blink of an eye. All it takes George is one huge snowstorm to drop a big cover of snow, and that could be our base for building our snowpack. Even if things don't get started till early January, snow can stay on the ground in January, February and into March. Even with a higher sun angle in March, we've had snowy March's where snow stayed on the ground..... maybe it melted faster on the pavement, but we've had snow cover everywhere else. Point is, stop focusing on other years and comparing them to what's happening this year because no two years are the same ever.

Totally true. You know I've responded to a couple of them and went up erasing my post because I don't want to stoop down and give them the fuel that they're looking for. We just need to cut them out and stop talking about them all together.

I'm just not sure what to have faith in anymore. Definitely not being negative, as I'll be happy even if we get one big snow event. I just don't understand how the models have been so volatile where they go from one extreme to the other and the course of a day or two. It's hard to get consistency. I can't wait to see everyone's reactions when we finally do get something legit. This place will be like kids jumping into ice cream lol

You think it's time to cancel winter? Because the sun angles getting higher and we're now almost done with December. I guess it makes sense that winter's a wash now and it's time to shut the blinds until spring ( I figured I'd beat you to the punch before you said it ).
