Hasn’t happened yet but any of us would sign up for the highly populated “Lake Tahoe communities” forecast of 3-6 feet with winds to 70mph.

6-10 feet in the mountains with gusts to 115mph?  It’s awesome.  Ski Towns get 3-6 feet and resorts get 6-10 feet.  With wind?  Dream forecast that we hope verifies.

    Greater Lake Tahoe Area-
Including the cities of Stateline, Markleeville, Incline Village,
Tahoe City, Glenbrook, Truckee, and South Lake Tahoe

I say a bunch of us just hop on a plane and head out there. Went to place out for the next week. I would die and go to heaven

  2. So is there any way of knowing if we'll get rid of the PAC jet for next year? I know we'll be heading into a La Nina. The question is strength. But not sure about the other part of the equation mentioned above?

So.. what does it mean for us ( the region ). Are you talking about mid week coming?

Wait... Still February this week.... I'm guessing this is for the following week?

  4. I was reading the post and thought I was in the wrong forum. This is now a health and fitness forum. I have my bike set up in my family room... Between the television and the view and the backyard, that's all the motivation I need. Oh by the way, might the pattern switch in mid-March? Lol

I wish we could get another 03/19/56 or April Fools Day 1997 late season big one to lift the spirits. Unfortunately nature is going to do what nature wants to do, and it doesn't matter how much we want it to happen.

I agree. And although we're in a certain pattern, then it's been a somewhat shitty one for the last few winters, all we really need is a week of a pattern break to bring in the big dog. It's happened in the past and it will happen again in the future. There's so much talk of doom and gloom. Will get some good storms again, we'll get a good pattern again in another winter. It's just not now so everyone thinks that everything is horrible from this point forward. Anyway, if we got a big dog between now and then to March, then that's great. Not banking on it but there's always a chance.

  6. Went out this morning to bring the dog outside. Snow started to come down moderately by the time I came in. We had about .5"-.75" on the ground then. Looking at about 1"-1.25" now with that moderate band that went through. Looks like this will be settling down in the next couple of hours. But then we have some. Have your snow showers and squalls early this afternoon. We'll see what that brings. It's been a wintery week for sure

LR 6z gfs has 50's/60's to end month

    Right... The "LR " lol

We may get some warmth then... But, all this talk of it being the end of Winter by the end of this month is speculation. So much can and will happen as we head into March. And of course it's the transition month from Winter to Spring, but as we've seen in many Winters past, we can get some whoppers in March ( and we already know about the Sun angle deal ).

This would be a heck of an end to February.  Theme of the winter with Canada absolutely furnaced

Listen, just like when it showed very cold cold air and then it modifies some or changes some as we got closer, the same thing can happen with this. It's probably going to modify some or change. Either way, anyone clinging to the LR to bring super cold air in or a furnace in is playing with fire ( no pun intended ).

It's more wait and see as we get closer and what's going to happen. But once we get into March things are supposed to change as we transition into spring.

Not following why folks saying Saturday is sunny. Thats a solid signal for a light .. perhaps moderate .. event

Well I think one of the reasons is on WVIT, Ryan has us clear and sunny for the weekend. Weekend. No mention at all of a flake. Friday morning. However, Gil Simmons on WTNH talks about the chance of a snow event on Saturday. Very strange how one says it's a good possibility and the other says we're going to be sunny. It is very confusing
