I love ground is too warm arguments. Keep them coming. Nom Nom Nom Nom.

Just like that blizzard we had in 1982 in early April. I think the temp stepped into the twenties and snow accumulated all around the tri-state area if I recall. So yes, it will stick if it's snowing hard enough and the temperatures are below freezing.

Man look at Wey…44 on Saturday, while we bask in 75.   As has been suggested, that warmth probably all ends up further SW of SNE, but that would be something.

Yeah... Watched Gil Simmons live this morning and he doesn't think we will be in the warm sector as of now for Saturday... But, if we did get into the 70's... I won't say no.

Funny how a winter pattern establishes and just rots in place, like a waning deformation band as the seasonal dynamics run their course.

Wasn't the Euro also showing something pretty big for April 2nd as well? Yesterday. I could be imagining that but I thought it showed it as well. Maybe it was a GFS come I can't keep up.

    Unless it's May 2005 ...

all kvetching considered,   that May was far worse. It qualifies as the worse calendar month that's ever happened, since that fateful day a comet impacted 65 million years ago ... kicking off a mass extinction that would end the dinosaurs reign.   It's amazing humanity survived 2005 as it is, it was so macabre miserable - poets were left speechless.  Mathmaticians left it as an unsolvable three-body problem of sodomy

Man..... You were born in the wrong century..lol ( And I mean that in the kindest way ). Your explanations are always so eloquent.

the problem is that models have been too cold all winter in the LR....ends up being muted/modified as we get closer in time.

I wouldn't disagree with that. I was just making the point that it wasn't showing above normal.

Seems like it’ll end up slightly AN . We are done with cold, snow, freezes etc

Hmmm... Not sure you are correct ( I mean, I'm not calling for a snowy cold pattern per se )... But the Outlook towards the last part of this month looks colder.

  7. It is so strange to see where we are in March. Other than far Northern New England, this is going to be a Snowless March. I thought for sure we would have had some Snows this month. Super bummed, but over it. I'm on to next Winter just to do this crazy mental ride again ( but with all you Mo-Fo's )!!

On the positive side.... Temps today in the mid to upper 60's!!!!!!! Wow!

Well here's the 12z Euro from Thursday for Wednesday afternoon:20250308_173555.thumb.jpg.c8bf612904bde7ca613baca920c75f9f.jpg

Please... Don't bother trying to get your point across. You're either going to get the big X symbol ( mostly from DIL and TT ).... or a lengthy explanation that could have been said in 1 sentence. ;-)

I still wonder which is more of a rare one.  97 or the Rocktober storm

If venture to guess the Rocktober storm of 2011. Although snow storms are super uncommon in April .. I would say we've had more Snow events in early April than we've had in October.

With little to no rain next 7-10 days and warmth and sun combined with the winds drying everything.  Fires and steins coming soon

I'm just curious, where do you get your information? Every time you make a comment, it's like a comedy fest.
