  1. I got caught up in the huge snowmaps from a day or two ago but now that things are coming into focus I would take 4-6 in a heartbeat. I would happily take 3” if it comes in a nice burst at the end of the storm.
  2. I’m just looking to see some decent snowfall for an hour or two and have a few inches on the ground at the end of the day. I think that’s still possible on the west side of the beltway.
  3. It’s fine. The GFS is a better model than the CMC, right?
  4. Boy do I feel pretty silly about melting down after 18z.
  5. That’s pretty much a given. Although 18z lowered our expectations so much that it will take a lot to bring us down more.
  6. Depends on which one shows more snow.
  7. OK, EPS helped wash away the taste of 18z GFS.
  8. Isn’t it consistent with 12z EPS, which was pretty far west?
  9. Sorry, just venting some disappointment. I’ll take it to panic room.
  10. Looks like ICON leading the way with this one.
  11. This. I’m resigned to getting some rain. As long as it ends with a few inches of snow on the back end I’m happy.
  12. Thanks for walking me back from the ledge.
  13. Yeah, I’m much more worried about west/warm than I am about weak/progressive/OTS.
  14. Well, in case we were wondering about our most likely fail scenario, this is it.
  15. As has been said, this is a better run than 0z for the beltway crew. We do lose 850s but for a shorter amount of time than we did on the 0z run. It looks like it will be Snow-Rain-Snow. It’s all about maximizing the front end thump and then on the back end as the storm passes us and pulls away. A few ticks East and we’re in the snow the whole time.
  16. I would take that in a heartbeat. Maybe not out your way.
  17. Sounds crazy but 12z GEFS and CMC were actually a slight step back from prior runs for DC.
