@CAPE That mid-Feb 2015 snow event was a true arctic airmass with temps in the teens with about a half foot of snow accumulations here. ETA: A couple days after featured highs in the high teens with lows close to zero IIRC

We do bad very goodly here.

Good thing a moderate to strong -AO like the one we have right now usually correlates to a -NAO. But sometimes even with a -NAO and 50/50, it can still fail if the block is too far north and the 50/50 low moved out too fast like this storm we just had. Or am I wrong about the -AO/-NAO correlation?

If we can just dig out parts of the chesapeake bay and make it a few miles wider then maybe I'll have a chance at bay effect snow.

Yeah taking a closer look at it, yes. I find it difficult to hear someone from behind a computer screen. They never seem to talk loud enough.
