  1. 35.2 with a Dp of 24 in Trumbull CT.
  2. Temp up 2 degrees in last hour, was hoping for white more than wet.
  3. That would be bad with the wind coming on the back side of this thing.
  4. It was way cool, like the bottom portion of a cork screw. It really is cool to see that as we discuss the surface vs. the 850 layer for this next storm - visualizing the cold north flow at ground and the warmer south easterlies up above.
  5. Saw something really cool driving on I95 in Bridgeport a little while ago. There is a power station on the south side of the highway - left side as driving south - and the steam coming out was doing a spiral as it elevated through the atmosphere. First it was going right to left (NW>SE) it spiraled up and clockwise and probably 100 feet above the top of the stack it was going SE to NW. Really cool to see. Something that might be cool to visualize as we talk up this cold lower layer for this next storm. It's really cool to see visually what we talk about vertically in the atmosphere.
  6. Where in Trumbull? Im off Churchill
  7. That is like an inch of freezing rain!!! Hoy.
  8. There will be wind as this departs correct? That ice hanging (.33 to .5) could be a problem with 30+ gusts I think.
  9. From what I have heard around 1/2 inch and it starts to get real.
  10. my hamster aint on the wheel yet - sleepless night whence the whoosh over my head. In all seriousness though, starting to worry a bit about ice here in Trumbull - about 4 miles north of Long Island Sound. Ice would be rare here but....
  11. So you're saying it won't be an issue.
  12. What about eastern Fairfield county?
  13. And I think we had a few of these borderline systems in a row and constant deep freeze right after - over like a 2 or 3 week stretch.
  14. Yup - I remember the bridges being closed so they could sledge the ice of the super structure. I have a vague memory of someone getting seriously hurt as ice came off Whitestone I think.
  15. More for you than for me in Trumbull - elevation for the loss for you - although I hope no one gets ice. I was up in New England skiing during that epic one that went all the way up to Montreal - forget what year - 98 maybe?
  16. What is that IBM thunder models track record? I thought I remember reading a while ago that it was improving all the time.
  17. A kick in the jumblees: German town in snow emergency
  18. Yah - if 20th fails and it's "great pattern at the end of that run" this snow lover is out.
  19. The clap of thunder last night around midnight was epic. Staccato attack followed by huge, floor rumbling, rolling surge that lasted for like 15 seconds. The lightening is what woke me. My daughter came running into our room hysterical. I'm sure the new dog was not loving being in the crate alone. Interesting radar loop at that time also.
  20. Busy prepping for this weekends playoffs - do tell!!!
  21. I think Pedro also came in in relief that year - but against Cleveland in game 5.
  22. Loving this thread for the first time this season!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!
  23. Ciofi was illustrating this yesterday on his youtube post. It is the linch pin to our winter.
