  1. Hey that's really considerate of you guys ngl. Congrats on your upcoming marriage!
  2. Here's the issue. As is evident, we are perfectly capable of restricting our social activities and movement around the planet, even if it is an inconvenience. Why is it so bad to shut down various public venues? What you may have forgotten is that all of this is a temporary solution until we have an effective vaccine, at which point covid will theoretically become just another disease that is largely avoidable. But until covid stops killing 1,500 people a day in the US alone, no, the remedy is not worse than the disease.
  3. If any of you seriously believes that this is gonna stabilize after Thanksgiving, you gotta put down the crack pipe. Christmas and New Years are gonna be one hell of a combo. The way I see it -and I really don't want to be a doomer- at least a third of this country gives no fucks about Covid, at least from a "fear" stand point. The rampant infection that will occur within that segment of the population alone during the holidays well prevent this shit from stabilizing.
  4. What's sad is that people believe that they're thinking for themselves by disobeying experts and people in positions of authority. when those experts are clearly right. Right now I'm honestly not sure how the country is still ignoring this so well. But come Christmas, when 300k a day are getting ill, I think that won't be a possibility anymore.
  5. If they did, we wouldn't be in this situation
  6. Oh, that's what Hoosier was talking about. Too bad, reading your responses would have been fun at least
  7. What on earth are you talking about.
  8. I'm sure the FDA will do a real study before this vaccine becomes widely available, right?
  9. I don't think people realize exactly how well-monitored vaccine development is. I know trust in the government is as low as ever but this is one of those areas that should largely be free of shadiness, one would hope. Also, did you guys know that at 94-95% effectivity, the Moderna vaccine is actually more effective than the measles vaccine, which hovers around 93%? Just something to think about.
  10. How about a new rule where if you ask other people to educate themselves as a means to support your argument rather than state supporting evidence yourself, you are automatically disintegrated irl
  11. I had to jump on the bandwagon lol
  12. For real. I'm so tired of this overarching theme in this country of "it's okay to be an asshole as long as I'm using proper political discourse". No. When you're an ass, you're an ass, and I will treat you like one.
  13. Thank you for confirming that you have no goddamn clue what you're talking about. Nothing is being modified during the usage of an RNA/DNA vaccine. My goober sensor is going off right now.
  14. Or, instead of making me go look up what I already know, you could explain what the fuck you're talking about since literally not a single soul on this forum comprehends it. Even dta, who acknowledges your point, is asking you to elaborate. This vaccine has been in the works for about ten months now. Between all of the governments across the world, an enormous amount of resources have likely been spent to create one. RNA/DNA vaccines have been around for decades, and are absolutely not experimental bs. There is literally no reason why this vaccine couldn't work.
  15. On top of that, how long do the effects last? That's something that we really can't answer yet. Also, the faux-illness brought on by the vaccine itself could deter lots of people from getting it. Needless to say, it's really great that we've been able to make a vaccine so quickly. Hopefully we'll be able to come up with a permanent formula for making RNA vaccines for all (or at least some) future viruses.
  16. I'm really not sure either. I'm not a medical genius, but it's rather clear that there's absolutely no science behind what he's saying. Even if he were just trying to discredit Pfizer for whatever reason, there's gotta be some better logic out there than what he's putting down lol
  17. He has absolutely no reasoning. I am really struggling to understand how he thinks an mRNA vaccine would damage a host cell's genetics; and then even, how that would somehow harm an entire human.
  18. I'm not sure if you realize this, but vaccines don't just damage your DNA. Or are you just pretending to be ignorant?
  19. If you don't mind explaining, how on Earth would a vaccine damage the human genome?
  20. I'm at the point where even mediocre is okay on paper as long as it actually feels like winter for a month or two. Just gimme a couple of okay snows, a few 3-4" ones and maybe an 8-10" incher (that's pushing the boundaries of mediocre, but maybe the rest of the season will compensate) and I'll be happy.
  21. You have to think though, is a mild winter really a disaster? By 2020 standards, would it not be more likely that it snows like twenty feet so that everyone can act like the world is ending?
  22. Weenie mode has more or less been activated by now. I know it's still early, I really do, but I'm pretty much foaming at the mouth in anticipation of at least some sort of forecastable snow.
  23. Might have to organize a neighborhood Christmas party just to watch the new How the ALEK Stole Christmas movie. Just playing dude, I agree with you 100% percent.
