  1. The warning for dupage panned out. Hail, crazy winds
  2. So how are our eclipse viewing prospects looking at this juncture?
  3. While viruses generally tend to evolve to be less severe in order to increase their virulence, that doesn't really matter in this situation because the concern is that the virus will mutate to overcome the vaccinations we've created against it, which would make it more lethal and would disrupt the flow of things yet again.
  4. The pandemic is not over, and it is seriously screwed up to insinuate that someone in here wants it to continue. As long as there are thousands of people with the disease, technically, there is still a pandemic. And yes, agreed, the obesity epidemic is also a scientific view. I don't think anyone else said otherwise, so I don't know why you're touting this as some sort of big aha-gotchu moment.
  5. I just feel like the whole mantra of people needing to lose weight to prevent death from Covid, no matter if it's valid or not, is a moot point because if you're already overweight then that means you're living with the fact that your lifespan is being dramatically shortened day by day, and that you're susceptible to a host of severe illnesses (diabetes, heart disease); ergo, Covid is not going to be the tipping point that convinces them to radically change their lives.
  6. I could. We decided that we're gonna give it a shot, this might be an epic waste of time but I have nothing better to do today anyway so what the hell.
  7. Do you guys think it might be worth it to take a jog an hour or two south and see if I can catch any development or nah?
  8. It's been raining quite heavily for the last 45 or so minutes here in Aurora, so that's nice FWIW.
  9. The one thing that makes me hesitant still is the timing, I'm really not trying to get down there for nighttime storms and that seems to be the direction things are trending in, unless I'm sorely mistaken. Either way, I'll keep an eye on things. We'll see how everything shapes up.
  10. I'll take that as a "yes, do it". That's exactly what I'm worried about myself, I really don't feel like waiting all season long for something to pop up locally.
  11. I'm entertaining the thought of going downstate to chase but I really don't know if Thursday's severe potential is worth driving all the way from Aurora for.
  12. Yep, sincerely appreciate you asking and I'm sorry for never posting an update. I really don't know how bad the side effects would have been the rest of Tuesday since I ended up taking upwards of 1400mg of Ibuprofen and Tylenol. I still had some strange flashes of feeling "weird" yesterday, but for the most part I was fine. Perfectly normal today. I will say, the most interesting thing to me was that I experienced very little soreness in my arm this time; like nowhere near as much as I did with shot #1. the soreness came on a little faster -within two hours- but at no point did I really feel like it was very bothersome at all. Granted, Monday night I had a bit to drink and obviously the following morning I started popping the anti-inflammatory stuff, so that definitely lessened the pain, but even overnight Monday when shit got real I could barely notice any soreness. All in all, personally I'm still glad I got the booster just for the added few percentage points of immunity. But, like I said previously, I was severely humbled by this experience and my respect for this virus has only grown. Dude, I could not imagine feeling like that for a week or maybe even more...
  13. Just a sore arm, that was literally it. I was pretty confident/optimistic going into both doses. My mother received the Pfizer vaccine too and was actually worried about her lack of an immune response to dose 2 -at least initially- so I definitely underestimated my chances of a strong reaction.
  14. That sounds like literal hell. As someone who's been fortunate to escape previous infection, this experience really humbled me. I can't imagine feeling like that for more than a day or two... Let alone breathing complications or anything else on top? Yikes. Appreciate the support man, I'm sure I'll be fine by tomorrow.
  15. Second dose of Pfizer is kicking my ass. Got the shot yesterday and felt fine with just a sore arm, but the second I went to bed I got sick as hell. It felt like influenza 2.0... Chills, fever, severe back and neck pain, my head felt like it was splitting in two. Popped 600mg Ibuprofen and that helped a lot, but I'm hoping I don't get worse again in two hours' time.
  16. I'm pretty sure most jet-owners could give about zero shits about that aspect of things. Believe me I'd never dream of doing that myself lol
  17. The key is to own a jet and just fly to wherever the severe outbreaks are.
  18. ^ This line right here is probably the best thing written anywhere on this website since its creation.
  19. How do you embed your photos? Like how do you generate the link for them? At least I assume that's how you're doing it...
  20. I'm chasing from behind now, had to stop for gas. Damn.
  21. Watching the base intently, following it from behind.
