From what I can see, 22.5" is the measurement here.  Not many other locals nearby to gauge how accurate that may be, besides @rgwp96

And that’s basically what I have on the ground as well but no doubt more fell but snow was compacting , I bet many of those higher totals don’t have the same amount on the ground that they say fell

NYC forum: for sure the se edge of the snow across nw NJ... hope it makes 2 or 3".  The sleet nixed it. Event still a mess but not as snow productive as anticipated. Probably my last of this eve unless we spark some decent snowfall. It's pretty wet and densely packed. 31.5F Treated roads were just wet.

Just went back to snow in butler (Morris county ) radar looks terrible so doesn’t look like it will amount to much . At least that nice batch got me this am dropping almost an inch

Its been a decade since we got to track something like this in December.

Wow i just read the watch for NJ. Ive never seen an early watch that says 12" or more possible. They always go with the criteria 6" or more possible..or they do a range. Never seen 12. Should be getting watches region wide in an hour or so if NJ went up yesterday evening.

    * WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 12
      inches or more possible.

I’ve lived in nw jersey all my life and don’t think I have ever seen them put 12 or more in their first issued watch

How much I wished as an undergrad that Penn State was in Somerset County PA where parts average that much or more vs. State College's mid 40s less than 100 miles away (which we only made one year I was there). Want to get into insane gradients, head to lake effect/snowbelt country.

I just want to reach average , 4 out of the last 5 years were below average for me snowfall wise . Last year was lowest I can ever remember  (14 inches  total , average about 42) The only above average year was a great year at 75 inches in 2018
