No, Buffaloweather should stop reporting totals. A guy 250 miles from the LES band in Northwest Jersey says his numbers are inflated. Nothin to see here!

Not exactly what I’m saying but you do you. All I’m saying is his way he’s doing it inflated them a bit. Figured a self proclaimed know it all would be able to understand that.

What other way is there to measure? I dig out 5 feet around each side to prevent drifting onto board. My total was lower than surrounding locations despite being in better spot based on radar loop.

This is probably why they got rid of the clearing method . No doubt you got hammered but that’s going to inflate your totals. Even in say a 6 in storm my foot steps get covered back up from drifting  when only a few inches actually fall.

  3. I’ve been in my current house since 1996.  I know that’s a short time but I have a flowering tree and really the average date hasn’t changed for flowering . Earliest it’s flowered was right around April first, latest about April 15th. This year first flower was april 5th.

A number of reports in Sussex County NJ are higher than my own and I could be conservative.  Difficult measuring here due to blowing-drifting-compaction of small flake snow. Now down to 21F with blowing drifting snow adding slush back onto treated-plowed roads. Vsby briefly down under 1/2Mile in blowing snow when gusts exceed ~30 MPH. Peak so far here 40 MPH in Wantage (306PM) with 3.1" so far.  Increasing reports of 45-50 MPH gusts NYC subforum including LI to KMPO.

Many people also don’t use hard surface like snowboards or tables or car tops . Ruler stuck  as far in the grass as possible can add an inch easily

Yeah not impressed with radar down south. The changeover seems a bit faster than modeled but that is coming at the price of precip starting to shred quicker.

Exactly , I had 5 minutes of rain and changed to snow over an hr earlier than modeled . But precip shut off  way earlier than modeled .
