    A good amount of the region is under severe drought or moderate drought per the US Drought Monitor. USGS river gaging stations are also showing below normal discharge.

    Mesonet in Talbot County on the water gusted 51, Easton Mesonet 44, what is more impressive is wind is sustained around 30. 21.0 with a gust of 23.9 at my PWS

    I think for eastern shore you were pretty accurate. The gradient was approx. 2" down near Salisbury to 7" up near Chestertown.

    If this is around on Wednesday I will start getting interested. For now need a jackhammer to get through the ice.

    I would imagine a few degrees makes a big difference for icing. Looks like just West of here stayed below 31.

    Yeah took awhile to go from 28.8 to 29.3, I would imagine we go a bit higher, but looks like wind has shifted on the western shore so not much more time before colder air filters back in. Hopefully schools plowed today, tomorrow morning will be interesting. Easton plowed my road around 1230...so I am fully expecting a sheet of ice when I wake up tomorrow.

    Yeah, 28.8 now, some nice icicles.

    27.7, around 5" of snow and sleet, maybe a bit more, and now freezing rain, trees starting to look heavy
