  1. I disagree with that sentiment. That’s like the thought of “…We would have won the game except for the fastball that was clocked 450 feet into the second game.” Well sure, you would have won, but you didn’t, because the fastball was clocked at the one point in the fifth inning during an otherwise well-pitched game. It’s how averages work. .
  2. I was just skimming through catching up on three hundred posts. Is it going to snow this week? Thanks. .
  3. Thought you very emotionally stable individuals would get a kick out this. Four years ago, we brought home our puppy from eleventh hour rescue in Succasunna. This was Day Two. .
  4. I bet you’re actually delightful to work with in person. Warm and loving the family, holding doors open, encouraging friends. .
  5. but if you cancel winter, where could you get into verbal spats with strangers? .

  8. NH is a tax haven around these parts. .
  9. Agreed. Of course we want snow, but a good rain to both wash away some salt and refill reservoirs and aquifers would be very welcome. .
  10. April will be unpleasant with high wildfire risk if precipitation continues sporadically as it has been. .
  11. This book was more than just that. A lot of basic stories of a lot of people who couldn’t admit that someone they don’t agree with (any politician) could be right about something and that themselves could be wrong; that closing beaches didn’t actually help (sunshine, vitamin d); school closings are hindering the poorest kids for many years on out and we’ll continue to feel the impact; the people making the vaccine didn’t have malicious intent; hospitals weren’t going to accept people if the beds didn’t make money. Just a cluster overall. .
  12. I’m reading a book at this moment (just learned how to read out here) called The Big Fail. Basically covers how everyone everywhere from all points of view failed society during Covid. That was one of the points. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. My brother in Christ, it helps you fight it off. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. They’re both terrific if you’re looking to be ill. .
  15. You know, and I think this goes for both you and the counterpoint, is that not enough credence is given to diet and sleeping well, if everything else is the same (baseline healthy). Of the past five years, eating fruits and vegetables regularly and getting good sleep feels like it was overlooked. My experience comes from being OG vaxxed and boosted, but not boosted since 2022; had Covid in ‘22 (mild) then mild again this summer. Hang on to your hat here, but I’m not a doctor. .
  16. Now I finally understand your name .
  17. Reading this at work in Florham Park [emoji1908] .
  18. Got down to -6°. Coldest here in a while. I think the most recent outbreaks have been around -1° or -2°. I think we hit about -14° in 2014 or so, and around -9° in 1994 and 1996. MMU for those keeping score at home. [emoji3063] .
  19. Mon capitan, my assumption is that it’s based on avoiding litigation, and yea, the brine… what’s the point? NJ seems to love it and it seems like a complete waste. I have to assume it’s as lousy for the environment and nearby water ways as the salt. .
