  1. Agreed. This will be a good case study for why you don’t need multiple discrete cells to get a major outbreak of strong/violent tornadoes over a large area. A high-end environment in Dixie Alley tends to find a way.
  2. Have a link to that? That’s insane!
  3. I know we discussed this earlier, but it bears repeating: this was a major outbreak. There’s a good chance we had 60-100 tornadoes in a 24 hour period, with several intense ones. It’s even possible we end up with 3-6 violent tornadoes when all is set and done. it may not have been the multiple discrete cell outbreak some were expecting, but we still ended up having one of the higher-end tornado events of the past 20-30 years yesterday.
  4. Had the same thought, but lest we forget that tornadoes can still occasionally get an EF-5 rating based off of vegetation damage. It’s rare, but there is precedent for it if the other contextual evidence supports such a rating.
  5. The lead violent tornado is going to have a legit shot at EF-5 once they’ve completed the survey of the worst affected areas. This is unreal damage.
  6. Holy hell. That looks like at least EF-4 damage depending on how well-built that home was.
  7. I think it’s safe to say this was a major tornado outbreak. When you throw in all of the intense tornadoes we had last night into this morning, I would be surprised if we didn’t end up with 50-80 tornadoes out of this, several of which were strong/violent (looks like 3-4 violent potentially based off radar signatures, which isn’t perfect by any stretch). We may not have gotten several discrete cells, but we didn’t need it in this environment to get an outbreak.
  8. Major debris signature with the storm in northern Georgia.
  9. Was just about to say that. Second circulation is developing as the first one occludes.
  10. New MD for the storms to the SW of these says we’re about to get more strong tornadoes potentially.
  11. Third cell near Prentiss is really starting to ramp up. Should go T-warned momentarily.
  12. Lead cell is a lot less organized now on radar. Hopefully, it’s weakened?
  13. The debris fallout from these tornadoes is insane.
  14. There is major debris fallout evident on the CC from both tornadoes.
  15. I can't recall seeing such a well-defined debris ball for this many consecutive scans in a LONG time.
  16. Going to say this again: We've got multiple cells firing to the southwest of these.
  17. Reminds me of the Hackleburg monster.
