snow most of the day here, 0.9 new

0.1 overnight. Pure fluff won't tax my back to clear.

Just was outside standing under clear starlit skies without a coat on, I asked myself that eternal question "how much longer do I stand here while my labradors fail to find the tennis ball in the snow?"

Whats odd to me is that I was living in central VT at the time and have no memory of that storm. I remember having a discussion with a friend at the time that they were having issues at their home because the snow was so deep their dogs kept walking over their stockade fence.

based on the shear massive number of cars heading north on 89, it is going to be a massive weekend at the Vermont ski resorts.

I had just gotten back. Did a quick 4.. Usually on the road by 4:50
I'm jealous. My running got disrupted by a foot issue about three years ago. Podiatrist eventually signed off resuming reduced running but I have not been able to reestablish the routine.

I’ll look them up today in Salesforce .. maybe i can grab the account. Hope the foot is getting better.
How is running going these days? Isnt this the time of day you are usually out for your run?

I would love to know how one measure's snow in 100mph winds.
You find a spot on the wall of your building about 4 feet above the snow line. You then measure the amount of snow sticking to the wall

BTV snowfall totals map

I woke a little after one and it was mostly rain at that point though sleet would mix in. We had six inches new on the ground though it likely had compacted a little based on the composition having some added water already. It is going to be a beast to get the driveway clean. Looks like the power outages are mostly on the west side of the slopes. (about 25000 at the moment)- we had good steady wind that looks to have kept the snow off the trees.

rough measurement of 3" new. Very fine and blowing around alot

Now obviously winds can be 1000 mph at 925/850 but if you're not mixing into these levels you're not bringing winds down.
I would hate to see 1000 mph at 925 mb

What about a blowing and drifting acorn advisory?
This is Vermont so more maples than oaks. Maybe there will be a Sap Advisory with the temp surge.

So for later today and tomorrow I have a Winter Weather Advisory, Flood Watch, High Wind Warning, Wind Chill Warning, Heat Advisory, Flash Freeze Warning, Migrating Geese Warning, and Wooly Caterpillar watch. Does that sum things up?
