Of all the "traditions" on this board, the 'last roll in the snowpile' is one of my favorites.

When does the “Well looks like you guys who wanted cold, crappy summer weather win” happen?

This inevitable forthcoming post, however, is not.

This tells the tale of sun vs. clouds well.  https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/?parms=subregional-New_England-02-200-0-100-1&checked=map&colorbar=undefined

Seabreeze cleared out the clouds all along the coast for a glorious afternoon, while inland was stuck under convective clouds.  First day without measurable precip here in over a week.

My sister in the Binghamton area just sent this.  Said everything is orange, like a California wild fire is one town over.

All school sports cancelled and kids can’t go outside at area schools.

I believe the cause in Nova Scotia was human activity like @powderfreak described. The official reporting I've seen from Quebec is that most of the fire starts have been lightning (because there aren't any humans in some of these areas).

yeah but have you heard of the cocaine bear(s)?

I had 30F that morning and a couple hanging begonia took a hit, Looks like another frost this morning here and I did not cover anything last night as I was planting a blueberry bush and wasn’t aware once again that we were going to get in the low 30”s again for Christ sakes.
