  1. Yes it was 91 also when I was in S NH Friday pm heading up To Jackson, NH. A/C is definitely needed in those areas today with some 94/70 reading at KFIT earlier . Gross Very much appreciating the weather I see temps have been upper 60’s- low 70’s from Jay to Dixville to Rangeley . I will be up here permanently soon enough or at least have the option.
  2. 72 nice degrees in Jackson, Nh looks like it’s a nasty 91 in Nashua its quite packed in these here parts hide the immunocompromised
  3. 15 cold rain storms is SNE winter lol, so no need to Fast forward based on “this will be the year mantra, reminds me of misplaced optimism every 4 years with voting
  4. Laura Satellite presentation improvement overbite (by 5-7 am ) looked extraordinary for a system where it is over S Hispaniola) Granted it may (degrade) again today but impressive at 7am
  5. If I lived in NNE I would skip fall, SNE nah . I’m all set w rushing in 15 cold winter rain storms. The allure of a so-so winter has vanished for me . If I was in any portion of the Mid Atlantic I would have long ago gotten rid of my snow weather fetish as a coping mechanism .
  6. 18z GFS with a nice fall airmass for NNE hour 220
  7. Thanks for the reply. I was pressed a bit for time otherwise I would have kept driving . Made it to Umbagog state park just prior to Maine border on 16. Wish I had more time , I like the area. I probably would have stayed on 16 and checked out Rangeley (the plot at 1800’ on long pond) in particular.
  8. Up in Jackson. Gonna take a stroll from Milan to Errol and see if I can spot a moose. Probably better shot of seeing moose then a dentists office up yonder
  9. No where south of the elevated great North woods that is inhabitable ? Sees a lot of advisory level upslope events a year that I am aware of . I would imagine maybe condos at 2 K at Breton Woods but my guess is you see a number of 1-2” events and tons of days with flakes in air . Alex would know best thou regarding amounts i would guess 88-90% of your accumulations in a 125” season are from synoptic events
  10. Problem is (sorta) Most of the kids are asymptotic and a large percent of college kids are as well only way to see how good Masks are for k-12 is Test them weekly . My guess is the key difference that will close colleges first is they are testing everyone initially and weekly . Most of the positives were not Ill when they tested positive (it’s just that group has not been tested much at all thru this whole Covid mess) and now they are. The college group will likely spread it very fast and the school age kids will be more of a wild card for spreading imo (but less imo than college kids staying at dorms) the k-12 kids won’t be tested unless someone in their family shows symptoms The younger kids w working parents (essential) and kids from low income homes (there is significant over lap) will suffer the most . It’s brutal . Stakes are very high for a effective prophylactic , and the vaccine discussion is very interesting as the phase 3 data (potential ADE side effects) will be watched very closely by FDA in high risk populations over next few months Also Regeneron will be releasing phase 3 data in late September regarding their anti viral , which could be big but costly$
  11. I grade everything an F unless we have a Mount Rainer Winter ..... but 10 plus rain storms From Xmas to Feb 28 will do the trick in Nashua. I’m doing everything I can to get out of SNE in the winter . I’m looking at land or also if not this year there is a M2M lease at 1860’ at Bolton Valley starting soon. I will find something .
  12. I see why Ray vacations in the Summer . Hopefully 98L develops
  13. Seems a trough in the west equals well above to record heat here and a ridge out west gives us near normal in SNE (more of a summer thing when BN is usually from rainy days ) not to say we can’t do below normal..3 months and 1 week ago I was snow tubing powder at cannon
  14. Ya, HFD should have several low 90’s left I would say 4 minimum
  15. After requesting a second opinion , Mother Nature’s back just has a bruise ?
  16. There is a nice plot in VT approx 2 miles ENE of Main lodge at approximately 1350’. 3 Westover Rd North Troy . Not awful .
  17. Is there a La Niña snowfall climo map for NNE is it neutral for upslope ? Maybe mount Rainier sees 1100”
  18. It’s definitely a sloped parcel , that’s the one . I probably won’t do anything for 3 months ,so it may be gone ...but there should be good potential w the ability for a view and proximity to skiing and water in seasons .
  19. Last week Cranky said the next MDR storm will take a southern route at end of August and then we will see several storms with development more widespread
  20. Some NYC / Manhattan NNJ wealthy folks are voting with their feet , and that is a real trend . Nannies/ Live in tutors/ teachers are in Super high demand for the very wealthy w Covid So much uncertainty with how this Covid plays out regarding restrictions as school tried to go hybrid as many fight the Covid fatigueugh Mountain homes are in high demand even as a investment ..away from the uncertainties of protecting upscale private property in urban areas now is a legit worry , look at Manhattan the expensive stores that have windows are ALL literally boarded up , this is not even hyperbole lol. If we have winter lockdowns folks with big cash can swoop in and steal nice mountain homes
  21. Ya it’s the 7’th year with good ole Les as director of expansion. He is a four letter word in some parts from prior activities. The Balsams expansion website acts like they are ready lol just have to approve that 28 Million bond .
  22. There is a 7 acre plot for 45k across street from Long pond about 3 miles from Rangeley lake . Elevated up so there could be a fine view .
