Good gracious. The American models are should I say awful lately.

I have enjoyed this warmup. It definitely made taking down the outdoor lights easier. This time tomorrow it will be a 40 degree swing. That’s gonna hurt. Also I’m noticing the temps are trending downward in the forecast. Add to that days of precip. I noticed the CPC has the longer term ABOVE precip chances putting the bullseye on TN.

Great analysis & discussion in here today. Like always really. Thank you to all contributing! Let’s reel in the cold enough air for a statewide snowwwwww!!! I say cold enough because I do not won’t any suppression where the beaches get snow. Lol.

Where we want it is usually what we say.

I just feel like so much has been added/programmed into these models such as all these new teleconnections & polar vortex & who knows what else, that the models are a jumbled mess. I feel forecasts were much more accurate in the 70’s-90’s. Of course adding the amount of hours they go out to does cause verification scores to decrease. Also adding the 10-15 days forecast sure does not help. If I remember correctly, 5 days was the most back in those years. Honestly it would probably be a good thing if the wx offices did not release the 240+ hours to the public. Actually 120 hours is sufficient. I know I’m wrong saying that, I just feel we have made forecasting much harder than we should. Some of these models need to be axed. Like the ole DGEX model. How I wish we could go back to simpler times.

We did half yesterday & the rest today. Time to enjoy some R&R but also try to kill a mole or moles in my yard. Also do paperwork. Owning my own business means end of year taxes. Which my brother the CPA is asking for lol.

I will try & find it. It was early 2000’s because my wife & I had moved into our first house. As matter of fact we bet who could build the best snowman. She was actually pregnant with our son. Of course I won the best snowman contest. Lol. Just don’t ask her for proof. lol. So it was between 2000-2003. My son was born in June of 2003. Found it.

I remember that 1994 ice storm. I remember the green lights all over from the transformers blowing. The trees in my yard were toast. Was hard to watch them breaking into pieces. I love the outdoors & nature. I pray we never see an ice storm in these parts ever again.

Did someone say clipper!!!!! I agree with what Carver said earlier. I also believe this is going to be like some of the older winters used to have. I could be way wrong but heck it sure is fun watching & hoping.

I love it. Crazy right! I am prepared for my son got me one of those ski mask covers that you pull over your mouth. I can’t remember what they are called. It actually goes around the neck. Having my lungs damaged from Covid & asthma. It helps to keep the air I breath in not as cold. Yep I’m jabbering away.

Whatcha talking about!? Was that the phrase Different Strokes would say? As far as ice storm. Heckkkkk no!!!! I don’t won’t to see the damage it does to all the trees. It’s like a tornado, it destroys trees & scars the landscape.

The weeklies have been Bi polar as of lately. lol. Be cautious with why they are showing. lol. Though hoping they have treated their bi polar personality & are back on track.

I remember clippers always being good back in the day 80’s & 90’s. We had that one that totally paralyzed Nashville. Schools went & we ended up close to 8” when the forecast was calling for 1-3”. It took forever for me to get my wife home from Greenhills to Hermitage. It took between 7-8 hours. Then we had to park a half mile & walk home. We lived in an area where cars were down in the gully & could not get out. There was like 8-10 cars that got stuck down in there. Maybe it’s my age that is showing. I’m 55 & don’t let not getting snow bother me anymore. I love a beautiful snow & am thankful to see each one. I see my neighbors who are 70’s & realize that will be me in the blink of an eye. Time truly goes faster the older you get but I also feel one pauses & takes in the special times. Like driving around with my young adult kids to look at lights this year. I used to never take it all in. I do hope we get some beautiful snow only thing is my kids will be at their colleges. Hopefully one day I have grandkids to play with in the snow or take to look at Christmas lights.

You’re good. To me winter is not just having snow. To me it’s cold & with snow thrown in every so often. Winter is the only time we really get cold & it’s nice to not be sweating. I feel December has been great up until this warm period. Below is a pic of the Grand Tetons today. I absolutely love the mountain west. I hope everyone enjoys the pic.

Strange how some say the models show nothing winter wise. They say they want winter yet are always negative. I believe they are just trolls.

My brother loves Alaska more than any other. He just went to the Alps, Turkey, Italy. He’s been all over Europe.
