Snow still coming at a pretty good clip right now. If i'm being honest, we didn't get 12+" of snow, but this storm has been fun. From the tracking, to the nowcasting, watching the temps yesterday, getting nearly every type of precip, and now this snow globe that will result in a few inches. This is why we do it

Keep an eye out for this batch of snow moving up from the southwest. HRRR has is filling in a giving many of us 1-2 inches thru early afternoon.
Was just thinking this. Snow, though its relative sparse and light, is stretching all the way back into Kentucky. We should have it with us for a little bit.

Even though the dry air aloft if starting to bleed this system dry, i have some snow falling now. It is light and very fine, but it is falling. Anything is adding up right now with the temps around 23°

I lied too. I was looking at storm reports from last night in NE Ohio around 6-7 and many places already had 4-8 inches then. Many places likely ticked up to 10-12 inches.
Oh well, this was never our storm, it just got way closer than we thought just to tease us.
Totals were higher towards cleveland. KCLE picked up 12.5 as of this morning and it was still snowing. Just south of youngstown, my dad went out and measured about 5" on top of ice.
-
Just about 0.2” of ice on the tree limbs out there. And VERY minimal snow. A dusting to cover everything white. I can still see lots of grass.

Off to bed. The temps are definitely moving. I was dropping 0.2° every 2-3 hours for most of the evening. Ive now dropped 0.4° in the last 40 minutes. 31.1° and pouring outside. Stay off the roads and enjoy the beauty of winter tomorrow morning.
-
HRRR still thinking another .17 of ice and 3" of snow on top.
-
Just came in from outside for a few minutes. Its bone chilling outside. Its pouring rain at 31.5°. Definitely a layer of ice out there. I was able to measure about .12" of ice so far on the branches. Hours to go.

yeah I don't blame you. To be honest the kids shouldn't have been off today. If anything if needed use an early dismissal. tomorrow looks like atleast a 2 hour delay will be warranted.
Looks like we are still snowing pretty good in the morning based on the latest. I can't imagine kids are in school tomorrow.
I think its ok that the called it for today. My temp sat at 32.7 all damn day. Imagine if that was just 0.7 cooler. Might have been way more issues. Better safe than sorry!

The crazy thing is that If i take the HRRR verbatim, I have 6-7 more hours of ZR.
-
If anyone is still model watching for the rest of the night. I think we can throw out the 3K. Not initializing well with the precip that is currently falling. The swath of freezing rain is much larger than the thin line depicted on the model. So im not sure how well you can take it for the amount of snow over night.

31.5° and pouring here. Definitely a glaze out there, but i dont feel like it is freezing up fast. Looks like sleet still at its heaviest up around Youngstown. CC lighting up like a christmas tree around there
-
31.6° and a little glaze setting in on cars, branches, and the sidewalk.
-
Down to 30.2 finally front coming through. I’ll check on precip soon.
What’s your location again?

Are you in Mount Lebanon? Just guessing because I've thought you mentioned that before.

What caused the front to stall? Something downstream had to block it. Just why did it have to happen right over us, lol.
Pretty potent ridge out over the atlantic

NWS just tweeted that their official total was 5” and that they have recorded 19 consecutive days of 3”+ snow pack. 13th longest streak. Very impressive.
