Congrats neighbor! Lol We usually get left out or get the WTOD around here, but really cashed in on this one.

Yes! Usually the first ones to hear the sound of sleet pelting our windows.. this time we made it.
It was awesome to get a taste of what the areas around the lakes get to experience. Crazy rates and an even crazier gradient.

Funny how the bigger snows circumvented the weenies fighting and made it to some good posters.
Maybe being positive will lead to better snows!
Thank you. I appreciate the post.
I know not everyone got it today, but I hope we can all cash in on a good one when the pattern flips back in Feb.
For now, outside of a few snow showers tomorrow, we’ve got some rain to contend with over the next 10 days

8.25 is what I measured in my yard. Far southern part of Bethel Park
5” of that coming over the span of 5 hours this evening
Craziness in that band of LES
I was happy with the 3.25 that fell all day.

I'll measure too in a bit. I'm still getting it. I'm right on the Washington county border.

Same. About .5 mile from.
Will be interesting to see if our measurements match up

Btw this guy is down near Bethel Park. That band meant business
I’ll let you know what I have. That band was awesome. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have a similar number outside.

Yinz need to relax. This is a weather forum.

I missed out on the band other than a half hour of heavy snow. Probably got about 2.5 inches.
Fairly dissapointing that this was our “big” storm.
So at your house it fell short by .5 “ of the NWS call. Gotta keep things in perspective.

This band is fun. Great rates.
I’m up to 5.5” on the ground. I didn’t measure the last storm so I don’t know how much I had before. But I measured about 3.5 at 4:30. 5.5 at 6 pm.

Snowing heavy here now. Best snow of the day! This could get places to that 4” level if it sets up a bit.
Just measured 3.5 for the total. Still watching that mondo band work its way down here. If it moves over me, I’ll go over 4 easy

I got clipped by it. Man it was awesome. Total weenie mode.
I’m out for now (still some light snow) but I’m hoping to get back in it

I’m not sure I’ll be in the main part. Looks to go just south of me. Still hoping

Hoping to get this main band that is pivoting through. It might be a little too far south and west for even me. Here is hoping!

2.1” officially at PIT as of 1pm. Need a miracle to break our streak of no advisory level events.
That sucks to not break the streak of 3"+ events. Still a chance at the airport, but i bet there will be some in the area that go over the 3" mark. Will be interesting to see how the snow fell across the county
-
starting to see some of the banding pivot towards our area. Should be very scattered by nature for the rest of the afternoon.

Think I spoke too soon about this being a complete disaster. It’s probably going to be a slight letdown when all is said and done, but we’ve had much worse.
lol its alright. We all go off the edge sometimes... Enjoy the snow. Remember the absence of winter last year and try to appreciate a day like today

Yeah I think once we get the wind shift NWS to the WNW we see an uptick again. Couple mesos hinted at some lake bands, and one briefly with Huron connection. If those materialize it would be high ratio fluff with a few localized "winners".
Putting some positive energy out there.
-
Got some good looking snow out there right now. At least where I am. I’ll take this.

Ehh… maybe I’m being too positive. I don’t see anything wrong with the 3-5 forecast. Sometimes you end up on the low end.

is it snowing where everyone is?? I have snow falling and will for several hours. WV looks good. Radar looks weak, but it was never going to look amazing. We were expecting 3-5" over the span of 14 hours. What kind of rates did you think we were getting?
-
It kinda looks like how we thought it was going to go. 1" so far with several hours of light fluffy snow to go. 3" will happen with this storm.
-
i looked outside and i see snow already. Certainly more robust on radar than what was modeled by the HRRR

Dewpoints are currently in the single digits. Does that mean we battle dry air at onset again?
HRRR shows that dry layer eroding away pretty rapidly. The good news is that it is a very thin layer of dry air.

100% radar scope. Can’t beat it. I think it’s $10 for the year. But very worth it.
No can do on the garage door. Sorry.
