  1. Nope. $40 for non residents, worth it. Windy here but no sand storm yet
  2. Beautiful day here at Gilgo beach. Parked at cedar and walked to Gilgo. It’s a stunning beach and always empty. 79 or so and windy.
  3. 92 at home, storms fell apart on the island. Great news for us on the water, watched the storms all around
  4. Thanks, yea that’s what I was thinking. NAM is mostly clear for us until early evening.
  5. What we thinking storm wise for the island today? We clear for the most part?
  6. 95 here today. Next two days look hot. We summer
  7. Newark 97, LGA 94, park 93, JFK 91.
  8. Spiked to 95, sea breeze front about to push through, getting that last compression heating before we drop
  9. No wind today. Currently 93. Think we hit 95
  10. Lawns starting to go brown here. Been a week with no real rain and none in sight.
  11. 90/75 here. Local PWS also all close to or above 90. Going to roast today. Winds are out of the nw at ISP
  12. Well he did show a national map lol. If you want to downplay a heat wave because that’s your thing then have at it. But if you want to be taken seriously then don’t be misleading. Why not mention Canada setting records?
  13. Why did he leave it out of today’s tweet? Seems misleading no? Why no mention of the records in Canada?
  14. New Brunswick also set a bunch of June records. I’m sure stations in Maine and Nh did as well.
  15. That’s not correct. I believe Caribou tied its hottest temperature ever. https://www.bangordailynews.com/2024/06/20/state/maine-heat-wave-bangor-record-temperature/#
  16. Topped out at 92 earlier, down to 90 now
  17. Park 90 LGA 92 newark 96 91 here now
  18. Took a while for us to get there this year. We probably have 4 by next week.
  19. 90. First of the season. Minimal wind today
  20. 88. Getting there
  21. Have a big beach day planned Sunday on the south shore. That doesn’t sound fun at all
  22. I think today the day we hit 90 on the island. Probably today, tomorrow and Sunday
  23. Feel the same way when there are headlines about a blizzard in the winter?
  24. What? The vast majority of our records are from ASOS sites. Nobody cares if the Johnson Creek Mesonet hit 100. ASOS sites are typically well sited and representative of the area, of course there are exceptions. Even at Newark the actual ASOS site is not on the airport grounds but in a grassy area adjacent to the airport. The whole narrative that readings at ASOS sites are bogus is ridiculous
