I’ve been wrong before and will be wrong again at some point. But weather forecasting requires people to go out on a limb and I am. I don’t think we get a colder week this winter than this week. I also think we wasted this cold for the most part and it will be a struggle to get to normal snowfall. Let’s find out

In terms of SENSIBLE weather…you know what actually dictates what falls from the sky, the Canadian models were horrific. 2 days before the storm they had plain rain from NE NJ eastward. in reality all of Long Island got 2-4” of snow. again, people care about sensible weather. If someone had been forecasting based on the Canadian models yesterday’s forecast would have been rain and 40. euro AI was the best with the storm period. It’s not even up for discussion. a model that had all rain 2 days ago for a 100 mile wide area that just got 2-4” of snow is horrific.

Took a drive to Robert Moses and there was snow right down to the beaches. Probably an inch on the sand itself, immediate south shore around 2”. Nice to see the beaches blanketed in snow.

This week probably coldest of the winter. Next few weeks don’t look great for snow and then we warm up. Absent a large storm in February I’m not seeing the area getting to average snowfall for the season. Probably crap out around 15” or so.

25 with light snow. Maybe other 1/4”

Ended with 3.5” here. Not sure this light snow will amount to much. A bit less than expected but a nice event. 8” on the season.

I think eastern Suffolk ends up ok. Alot of snow moving off the ocean for them. Glad you got some as well. fuck the RGEM
