The heat might be making me go insane but it actually felt marginally better outside this morning. NAM says the relief will start coming in around 10:00 PM tonight.

Dewpoint is 67 here, feels quite a bit better than yesterday

Still 86/73 at ISP and FRG, HI 93, still uncomfortable out here.

Here's the definition. I suspect one or two locations in the region may have approached or met the criteria.

Excessive Heat:  Issued when heat index values are forecast to reach or exceed 105°F for at least 2 consecutive hours.
Watch is issued 24 to 48 hours of the event.
Warning is issued within 24 hours of the event.

Excessive Heat warnings were issued by BOX for CT Valley and E. Mass...

I dont think most offical reporting stations meet the criteria. I suspect unoffical measurement in a backyard or something similar maxmize the dew point potential in a way a barren mostly concrete airport does not. Central Park could but they dont have the heat to match the humidity.

JFK, FRG and ISP all had 103 earlier, i presume even higher between hours, and they are further south than me. No doubt in my mind much of Western/Central LI were over 105 for a time today.

Late in the season it’s fairly easily for JFK or ISP even with a south wind to reach the lower 90s.  Higher than 93-94 probably won’t happen but you can easily get there

90/77/104 at ISP (down from 91)

    91/74/100 at FRG

    92/76/104 here

Thats a record high for ISP, not sure about FRG.

Excessive Heat Warning should have been issued, as Heat Index is 104+ in spots now.
