87 now, running about a degree cooler than yesterday. Probably due to high clouds

The lack of Central AC on this sub forum resulting in hundreds of post regarding installing/not installing is astounding.
You beat me to it...

I don't get the fascination you all have with not using AC. Is it a money thing? Pride? Maybe you all dont have young kids still in the house. Regardless, once temp in the house is above 72 at night, central AC goes on until October. No reason not to be comfortable in 2019.

Villevielle has now reached 45.1°C (113°F) to set a new French national record high temperature.
That's incredible. Brutal temps, and there is no desert in France

Slightly cooler temp this morning and slower to rise so far, today looks to be a bit cooler out here than yesterday

88 so far. Looks like seabreeze front is making a nice move N in Suffolk
Hasn’t reached here yet, still roasting at 91

Just hit 90.
Briefly hit 90 here, 89 now. ISP at 87

Looks like seabreeze already pushing pretty far north in suffolk, earlier than i thought it would, the rapid heating must have caused it to come north faster

I'm the cold spot, go figure. Maybe I'm the only one with a properly mounted sensor, who knows?
no, because you are even cooler than the ASOS sites further south...your sensor is off. My sensor is in the shade and partially over vegetation (which i watered this morning), 2m off the ground nowhere near any buildings, so there is no way your 83 is accurate

You're 88 already? Geez I'm only 83 in Syosset right now
Is your sensor surrounded by vegetation? ISP was 84 at 10 am, so you should be at least 86. 83 is way too low.

That marine layer just doesn’t want to give up along the New England coast. A lingering piece of the pattern which resulted in our delayed start to summer. Eastern LI is still in the soup with MTP at only 65 degrees.

Wow 23 degree difference between here and Montauk, 88 now

86 already, 5 degrees ahead of yesterday at this time.
You know it’s gonna be hot when you’re already at your forecasted high for the day before 10 AM.
same here, 86, still 81 in the park lol

Pretty unlikely. The Park actually dropped a degree since then to 85, while everywhere else continued to climb. The Park fell to the same temp as JFK despite the SW wind there.
LGA 88
Newark 89
JFK 85.
Temp by me just hit 90.
The park is a joke. FRG is 86 and its 5 miles from the ocean, and much of LI is 86-88.

Agreed. Soil moisture is way too high upstream. You need hot/dry air masses to advect from the SW.
Soil moisture doesn't seem to be holding us back today. Forecast was 84, and its currently 88

86/64 here. A sultry 83/67 at JFK with sw winds off the water.

With 3.08” so far this month and only 5 days left, this June is the driest month since last June (3.26”).
We have also missed much of the heavier rains this month. Still not a dry month by any means

Interesting that City and NJ terminals are all reporting EAST winds, and LI terminals North winds...very weird.
