    Had a very heavy period of snow in Dekalb, began to stick to the grass and rooftops before it ended. The winds also caused some minor damage, including knocking a stoplight off its post and causing it to dangle in the wind

    Sun is out in DKB and temp is 81. Forecasted high was only 77

    So I just stumbled across this thread, I’m going to Northern IL University in a month for meteorology and I keep seeing things like this that really want to make me reconsider. I know this was posted 8 years ago so I’m sure things have changed but if anyone has any insight into this I’d love to hear it, giving myself some other options just Incase sounds like the best bet to me right now but I’d love to hear any advice anyone may have.

    Did anyone else see a bright green meteor in the western sky at 8:40 CDT?

    86/75 here with full sun at the moment, so that’s obviously a good sign as far as destabilization goes, didn’t expect to see much sun today

    Produced a lot of marginally severe hail from central Iowa through Illinois. Surprised with how well it’s held together
