-
dewpoints are now in the upper 60's to low 70's over NC and VA
many TOR warned dsicrete storms moving into these areas
see ya in the SE forum
-
Are there any reports from Birmingham yet?
Haven't heard too much about it.
yes major damage just north of downtown on the extreme north side of the city north burbs got hit hard ..deaths in Pleasant groove
-
once again the storms this morning knocked power out to many people in AL..they had tornaodes and very highe winds about 5-7am
they had no power or access to TV and NOAA weather radio was down in some locations
and the internet
also i assume the sirens won't work if no power
-
death toll now 40 in AL alone
-
I know that the got rid of the report filter....but to see N. AL colored in red is yet another thing that goes beyond words today
I don't think tornado reports ever had a filter only wind and hail did..of course many are from the same tornado
again you have to add the 61(that will increase) from yesterday afternoon.evening and the early morning hours before 12z
-
I think a poster said that this could be counted as a two day outbreak due to less than 6 hours between tornado touchdowns which means we could be seeing 179 reports of tornado touchdowns
yes same outbreak
there was only like an hour between reports starting in texas yesterday(12z to 13z this morning)..and many more that were entered as wind reports that said possible tornado last night
-
5 fatalities in MS this afternoon
3 last night
-
So far in all the Youtube's I've looked at of the Tuscaloosa & Birmingham tornadoes I haven't heard a single tornado siren
power may have been out
storms in the morning did tons of damage
-
Tuscaloosa video....wowo http://vimeo.com/22970879
looks like ther andover KS tornado when it was moving into that subdivsion
-
uh, is BMX going to ditch the office and take cover?
looks like it gor disrupted,,good news
-
large dangerous Tornado will affect south BHM metro
it is a 1/2 mile wide
hopefully those storms will disrupt it
-
The TUS/BHM cell is really ramping up again
-
In an event like this, deaths are inevitable. Some people can't heed the warnings because they live in a mobile home and dont have any mobility. Others are just unlikely - debris can blow into a basement and trap/kill an occupant.
Think about all the places hit today...
Tuscaloosa
Huntsville
N Birmingham
Newton
Hackelburg
Phil Campbell
Add to this list pls...
cullman ,,,,the first live tornado
-
Jasper TN
intense couplet heading for the city
-
It's a mile wide wedge, it takes a lot longer then just a few minutes for one to cycle, Birmingham is screwed.
no its not...it will go north of the city and the north side isn;t that populated not near as the south side ..another 2-3 miles south would be a complete disaster
but decent size towns in its path
-
BHM storm may be truning very tad right not good North side of BHM along and north of the interstate looks to be in trouble
-
FYI supercells developing over NC and VA too
-
may stay just north of BHM city
