    January Banter 2019

Lurker here, who enjoys the excellent analysis offered by the top posters. Random been counting question ---- for what DC itself received in the storm, would y'all label this a SECS, MECS, or none of the above? Will help me have some context when those terms are thrown around in the future. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

    The Panic Room--Winter 2017-2018

Stay here long enough, you'll get your 10 inch+ storm. Seems to be the golden age of northeast snow storms we're living in, and you're in the right part of the dc metro area for most storms. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

March 20/21 STORM Obs/Discussion- No Banter

Nice steady snow in Chevy Chase DC. Grass finally covered. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  7. Do you think that all of DC proper is affected by UHI hell, or is that mainly limited to the downtown core? I'd be interested in studies or anecdotal evidence that compared areas like Cleveland Park and Chevy Chase in upper NW DC to say Chinatown. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

January 29-30th Rain/Flurries coastal and IVT

Hey, long time lurker. What's the general timing of these snow "bursts" if they were to actually happen --- middle of the night, or more like Tuesday morning, or still too early to tell? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    March 13-14 Storm Nowcasting/Obs

I was just out in Cleveland park, still light sleet, but side roads completely covered in a snow-sleet amalgamation. Hard to see how those roads recover if we're dumped on for a few hours. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Do you think OPM will reconsider if that comes to fruition? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Late Feb/March Med/Long Range Discussion

Para GFS anyone? Once again looks like rain to decent snow to my untrained eye (hrs 201-207), but could be the disconnect between the current 850 line and when the precip actually falls. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

The para GFS doesn't have you at least a little intrigued? (Genuine question, not snark)Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I'd be interested to know if this is because the para GFS relaxes the WAR, or if because it properly "threads the needle"Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

President's Day Storm Obs & Nowcasting

IDK, cwg just spit out a graphic showing temps near 50 degrees by mid to late morning. Even if we get .2 inches of "ice" tonight hard to see how a 2 hour delay wouldn't solve everything, which would make this a rather pathetic ice storm. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Is that temperature higher or lower than you thought you'd be right now (or same)Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
