After spending five years in VT it is just painful being back in NC. I will never forget this 30 incher I witnessed up there:

I often wonder how ski areas down here in NC stay in business. This year has been especially bad of course. Of course there has been record warmth for a a big portion of this month in the Southeast to the point where the bugs are coming back outside the mountains and Daffodils are appearing. This is Sugar Mountain (summit is over 6K ft):

I know I have been taking some heat for saying RDU may zero out this year, but there have been plenty of winters where they have only come in with a Trace.

Dandelions are starting to pop in Raleigh. Daffodils too.

A trace doesn't count as measurable. Either way this will be a snowless year in terms of anything more than a trace.

So far my RDU zeroing out prediction is on track.

It has that kind of feel out there for sure. Sun is out in Raleigh and it is already over 70F out. Low clouds are racing by so there is definitely no shortage of low level wind shear.

Yeah we are going to start burning prime climo time soon enough. I never had a good feeling about this winter though. I said RDU would likely zero out this year.

I am sure it was a blast driving up the hill before descending into Williston. Anyway that is when you just go back to the lodge for a few more rounds

BTV got around 7 or 8 last I saw. Pretty solid forecast. On a side note it even briefly snowed down here in the NC Piedmont today.
