  1. That was my point yesterday...the ineptness of the CDC.
  2. This might be the post of the year...and it has nothing to do with snow and everything to do with life in general. It needed to be said.
  3. I didn't see your post, but I'm sorry it was removed. I don't know why you were singled out.
  4. Word got out, and Susquehanna Regional was waiting for me. At least it got them away from Sheetz and Rutter's for a period of time. Okay, that was wrong. Our police do a great job. Truly. 92.2 here...it's another official heat wave here in Maytown. (93, 91, and 92 so far today)
  5. Worst part about all of this is that I can't go running to Horst to find out what's going to happen. Yes...different opinions are great. I respect yours very much. That's just it - when my kids tell me "NO" to vaccines...I get it. Kind of.
  6. That's a great point! I know for myself how difficult it was after getting the 2nd dose and resisting the urge to out and run naked through the midtown Historic District. Those 2 weeks were more difficult with my patience than the 3 weeks between jabs were.
  7. I'll bite. Once. I'm fully vaccinated and have been for months. My wife just got her first dose last week and will be fully vaccinated in August. None of my 4 grown kids have gotten vaccinated, and all of them have ZERO interest in getting jabbed. As much as I'd personally like them to, and as much as I'd love to see the nationwide percentage be much higher than it is, the CDC has done nothing to instill trust (and confidence) in making Covid-related decisions. My kids were done with all of this months ago...I fear that their tune will change if and when they get sick, which I'm starting to believe increasingly will happen. Fact is, my kids (ages 19 up to 26) are just a small sample of our nation's opinion on this. So many people have tuned out due to changing messages, conflicting reports, he said this, she said that...they're over it. They don't care. Like I said, it bothers me greatly but I can't change their minds. And I go through all of this...all the conversations that we've had, all of the reports that I read, everything that we do know about the virus and it's variants - and I come to the realization that this is something that we're going to be dealing with for a very long time. Right now, the cases seem to be growing at a quicker rate than any of the previous waves. And yet so many people aren't even aware of what's happening AND don't care.
  8. Got to 91 at 1:15...then dropped to 89 at 2:00. Now back up to 91 at 3:00pm.
  9. Great disco guys. Looking forward to my AC only running for 45 minutes each hour. 87 here at 12:30. Looking like 91-92 kind of day to me.
  10. And there you have it. And i agree with you...not sure that made a lot of sense.
  11. It was moved to July last year, but Covid destroyed that idea. I wonder (I honestly don't know) if it had to do with getting more people to attend with schools not in session. I always thought that fall made a better season for fairs.
  12. That 82 south of Elizabethtown is right down the road from me, and matches my current temp perfectly. Ouch to the 86 down near Columbia...also close by to me.
  13. Good chance I'll hit 90 tomorrow assuming a lot of sun prior to the frontal passage. We're almost to August, and with it comes further reduction of daylight. One nice thing to look forward to is potentially cooler nights as the month goes on, even if it's a hot day.
  14. Hitting 80 before 10am is a benchmark of mine for really hot days. Mission accomplished today. Hot weather is always a little more tolerable when you can see your way out of it...
  15. Yes sir, full sun here and it's off to the races. Temps will be higher today than Jeff Spicoli was rolling out of the van in Fast Times at Ridgemont High...
  16. Sunny and 91. Had a period of clouds midday but it's been a mostly sunny day here. And hot. Edit: Dewpoint down to 58. That helps.
  17. It started raining down that way about this time yesterday and just kept going. Thing is, it rained hard but from what I could tell, not the real excessive stuff that we sometimes see. It just rained "hard" for hour upon hour.
  18. One thing of note - my dewpoint is crashing. Down from 70 a couple of hours ago to 61 now.
  19. 85 at noon, lots of clouds up there. Doubt seriously I'll get as high as I did yesterday. (which is fine with me) I was gonna bite and jump in on the vaccination/masking discussion...meh, I better not.
  20. My strategy was to try and advance to fall as quickly as possible. LOL Talk about sticky, dew is still a sultry 70 here. I knew it would be hot today but was hoping my dew would be more in the lower 60s by this point.
