  1. Did you get anything earlier this evening? Quick but rather heavy shower dropped .1". High today was 64...first time in the 60s this month.
  2. I'm mowing later this afternoon weather permitting. #6 - only the first of which was me weening out over having it super short for impending snowfall.
  3. Nearly .75" more than you - not sure if you had a storm during the early to mid afternoon hours yesterday, but I picked up over a half inch of rain between 1pm and 2pm. If you missed out on that storm...right there's a big part of your deficit.
  4. 1.6" of rain here today, total since Tuesday was 2.26"
  5. Just got home from dinner out with my wife. Still raining, now over 1.5" at 1.53" for the day. Going back to Tuesday night, 2.19" of rainfall.
  6. Dan Baker - Phils PA announcer since 1972. It's not a Phillies game without his voice.
  7. It was my first professional sports venue in 1971. As a 6 year old I gawked at the 55,000 yellow, orange, red, maroon, and brown seats. I spent many childhood nights there watching the Phils. Lots of memories wrapped into that place. Not all of them so good, but a lot were.
  8. Up to 1.05" of rain today. It's been training here the past couple of hours. Historic district getting the goods today.
  9. I had a similar experience at the Vet in the early 70s...some drunk dude spilled beer all over my back. My dad told my mom to take me out for a few minutes while he handled matters. LOL
  10. Big thunder AND big lightning here now. It's progressed from a "novelty" to a legit storm. She's a booming out there.
  11. Tommy Herr on your thumbnail - he was selling cars at my local Ford dealer a couple of years ago.
  12. This band moving in here now is most likely going to get me to 1" for the day.
  13. Am I looking at the infamous 10-0 comeback game against the Buccos...
  14. I will say that I've been to an equal number of Steelers and Eagles games in my life. Both teams have incredible fan bases that extend well beyond their respective metro areas. I never hesitated taking my wife and kids to Heinz Field...but I'd never consider taking them to the Vet. Have only been to the Linc twice and it seemed a bit more mild, but still more vulgar than Pittsburgh.
  15. Thunder! 47 with heavy rain once again. Looking at radar I think I might have a chance at eclipsing 1" for the day. Already up to .70" with plenty more to go.
  16. Just moved through here...down to a drizzle now. .56" so far on the day.
  17. It took all of 3 home games for James Harden to start hearing boos. There is NO one like a Philly sports fan.
  18. Both Yankee and Red Sox fans overrun Camden...but there a subtle difference. Sox fans are worse to tolerate for whatever reason.
  19. I spend more time there than probably anyone in this forum. No problem with me.
  20. I wanted to come back and respond to this. You are so right. I admit that I struggle a lot with obnoxious fans, or fans that just tend to talk "stupid". I will never brag on my team nor will I ever give someone else a hard time unless I feel like I'm being provoked to do so. I will say that back in 2011, I was getting beat up by Red Sox fans all season long. A lot of it was...classless. I never once provoked anyone, but it didn't stop the trash from being hurled at me. Of course, all the Red Sox had to do was beat the Orioles on the final day of the regular season to clinch a postseason birth. Camden Yard was full of red and blue that night...trust me on that, I was there. Well, the O's came back dramatically and walked it off which sent the Sox home packing. The team and the fans celebrated like we won the World Series. Honestly, I felt vindicated and more than satisfied. I don't think I've ever felt more smug as I did that night walking out. And I told more than one Red Sox fan where to go. LOL
  21. 48 here now. No lightning or thunder but it is pouring. .53" on the day and adding up rapidly.
  22. I mean...honestly, those kinds of statements come back to bite the offender in the arse far too often. My son talks like that about the Steelers, and it pisses me off to no end. Back in 2014, we were at the Buccaneers game at the Ketchup Palace. The Bucs finished 2-14 that season...guess who one of their wins was against? And it was without their starting QB!
  23. So far today, .35" of rain has fallen. That takes me to 1.01" over the past couple of days.
  24. Personally, I would never make "we're not going to lose...." predictions with the 76ers. Ever.
