  1. One thing that is becoming more and more evident with each passing day - big discrepancy in how it feels in the sun vs. shade. I was just out in the sun and it's genuinely warm. Very chilly in the shade.
  2. I had my first sub-freezing night in nearly 2 weeks this morning. Several more incoming this week. Flip side...normal high for today in Lanco is 39. It's currently 48, which I would consider a well AN departure.
  3. I've wanted to do this for some time. Good for you to experience it!
  4. 11th consecutive morning above freezing- low was 34.
  5. To be clear - I'm talking about the 1970s and not the 60s. I was only 5 when that decade ended.
  6. No - I just pulled what I found off of MU's climatology page. I really didn't look any more into it.
  7. I mean, going off an old man's memory, but as a kid I do remember seemingly every winter was much better to my NW. Always seemed like every storm dropped incrementally more snow the deeper into PA you got. A lot of mix/changeover storms that likely stayed primarily snow to my north and west.
  8. If there is something legit fishy...I wonder which station was the bigger culprit?
  9. Some of those years in the 1960s there was nearly a 20" difference between Harrisburg and Lancaster. As Elliott at MU would say..."yikes!"
  10. https://www.atmos.millersville.edu/~wic/climo/season-snow.html
  11. Thanks - big differences in quite a few years over a short distance. Must have been a lot of mix storms where the Harrisburg area held on to snow much longer.
  12. Was that at MDT? Lanco's average for the 1960s was only 36"
  13. @MUweather #January2024 concluded as the 5th-wettest on record at @millersvilleu . The stretch of unseasonably cold weather from the 15th to the 22nd was not enough to offset the milder conditions during the rest of the month. In aggregate, temps were nearly 4F above normal
  14. .12" of rain since midnight. Drove home from work, the rain was of a surprisingly moderate intensity.
  15. Having been there this past May, I follow the weather in Mammoth on a daily basis. After last year's epic run, it's been a colossal disappointment so far this season. The actual village of Mammoth Lakes was running over 250" behind last season to date as of this past Sunday. They had a nice storm overnight into today and as you mentioned, a moisture-laden storm looks to get them pretty good starting late Saturday night.
  16. Into the month of February and Nashville has more snow than Minneapolis. Hmmm.
  17. Didn't take long - Corbin Burnes is coming to Birdland. We didn't give up a single top prospect to boot. Let's go.
  18. We still are! I emphasize this fact very often...40+ is a protected class.
  19. I've been teaching a respect in the workplace class over the past few weeks here at work. I use this exact video to illustrate how to properly manage your own actions. LOL
  20. That's kind of what I was saying. I love cold weather, but there comes a point in time when it almost doesn't even "make sense" any longer. If it's March 1st, cold and windy as all get out with snow opportunities for snow on the horizon...let's spring forward.
  21. It would be quite "unfortunate" if late Feb/early March features partly sunny, brisk days with highs around 40 and zero precip.
  22. I resonate with this so much - I've been gobbling up tickets the past week for a whole lot of games this summer. The itch is real...
