Heading downstairs. Sky is green and lightning is nonstop. Feeling anxious.

Heavy rain but winds were only in upper 30s with that little storm. It is a hauling thought. Already sunny again.

That cell that was west of Harrisburg has quickly grown into a line that extends from Schuylkill County southwest to the M/D line. I'm in the crosshairs shortly.

Temps dropping fast here now...down to 67. 5 degrees in 20 min. Winds have calmed to 15-20 gusts.
It's gotten very windy here over the past 15 minutes. Some of these gusts have to be in the 40s.

Storm has hit some fuel due west of Harrisburg and is severe warned.
Yep, warning up for Maytown now. Winds are already ripping and the storm is still miles away.

Our temp has stopped at 77 here as well. It is quite gusty at 30-35 but we have gusted over 45 six times since New Years and over 50 three times. Looking at the radar and the HRRR, I am worried I may get shut out.
Radar looks nothing like I would have expected. Numerous scattered cells all over western PA...I was assuming a one and done line but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Winds had been steadily increasing over the past few hours but suddenly have gone nearly calm. Temp is up to 77.
-
Line has entered western PA- it's almost perfectly oriented north/south which is a bit unusual.

Sounds like they are buying into the nam depiction. On my phone as well.
Yeah, pretty sharp gradient between Marginal and Enhanced right across the LSV.
-
Can't post on my phone but a good bit of the central and northern portions of the LSV just got upgraded to Enhanced. Much of Adams and Franklin is still Marginal with Slight risk around and just south of the Turnpike.

All of western PA blue boxed for 30% severe with straightline winds exceeding 50 knots.
It was going to weaken as it moved east (before restrengthening near the NJ line) but the NAM has it riding all of PA as a powerful system without any weakening.
NAM Nest is especially wicked in the LSV.

Skies clearing out rapidly now after .17" of rain early this morning. 62 degrees on it's way to at least the mid 70s.
-
FWIW, Elliott really ramped up his wind talk for tomorrow. Up to 60 mph with roof damage and widespread power outages.

So Chicago is not under a moderate risk?
-
Max winds tomorrow- I'll go with 47 at MDT and 44 at LNS.

High Wind Watch hoisted for all of MD. CTP will follow suit, which makes sense as this wind event will be the worst we've seen in years and years it appears. Hey that rhymes.
Sterling must not have updated their maps because the only watches that I see currently issued in MD is in the western part of the state - most of MD has nothing at this time.

Kind of a long video...frustration is setting in even for the hardcore folks who have lived in the mountains for years - some of this guy's footage in his neighborhood is beyond surreal:
This was filmed yesterday.

There was a 20% chance of an isolated snow shower in Mammoth overnight...
...this morning they are reporting 7" of new snow in town and 9" on the hill.
Town officially at 702" for the season.

The 3k NAM for the MS Valley through the Ohio Valley is WILD for Friday. Serious storms. Very interested to see if SPC issues its largest-ever MOD warning tomorrow. Between spinning tops and the wind shear getting pushed down - Jesus.
If timing works out Saturday in PA I’d think sees an enhanced - timing doesn’t look ideal but who knows. Just depends on the front timing. If it can pass through from 2-5 pm all bets are off.
Next Tuesday/Wednesday probably is a repeat of Friday/Saturday. Any cold front over the next few weeks unless the jet changes is going to cause major storms. We fly Tuesday afternoon - might not happen. Time will tell!
This is you at your best - I look forward to your severe thoughts. Keep this content rolling please.

MDT having a very average day with a high of 56/57 and a low of 36. But month wise it seems locked in at being between 1 and 2 degrees AN. It stands at 42.9 right now with some room to drop tomorrow with a well BN day forecasted but not a whole lot. "Normal" is 41.3.
Think today was a good example of springtime water influence at MDT - although there were other stations in the same vicinity...surprised that most were a few degrees below the 61 here.

Nope, didn't take it that way at all. Was just clarifying that it wasn't graupel. It's all good, and I must say, being called Mr. Snowman left me feeling quite titillated haha.
Has anyone checked on @Itstrainingtime? After checking the snow cams at Mammoth this morning his heart may need monitoring!
Also, big thanks to @MAG5035 for that hail clarification yesterday, 'twas very helpful. I had a feeling you would come through with something enlightening and you didn't disappoint. You continue to be one of the bright spots in being a member of this board. Don't ever think your work doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated. If I ever meet you in person you best believe you're being bought the finest of ales!
Happy hump-day to all!
*whispers* national low of -35 at Peter Sinks, UT.
30" of new powder overnight.
I'm about speechless at this point.

I remember the sirens going off in Wormleysburg. That was insane.

There are towns around our area with Tornado sirens?
I feel really stupid - I thought that was a midwest/south thing...

Well that was a whole lot of nothing outside of a lot of lightning and thunder. .14" of rain, zero wind and a few hail stones. Sun is out and winds are very light.
